Ratatouille in Epcot

I think it's terrible that Christian Girls can be kidnapped in Africa, killed in the middle east and no one in this country cares because our news media does not make as big a deal about it as acts against another religion. I have no problem with any religious view. In fact I believe if all religions were properly explained that no one would have a problem. The basic teaching of all religions is that we should all respect each other and live in peace. Put Brazil in with whatever symbol they want. We need to learn and respect each other and that means understanding each other. I went to a training class at work and was asked what a picture of 2 men in tuxes was. I said a groom and his best man. I was told I was wrong and it was 2 men getting married. No I do not have a problem with that answer except I have the right to interpret it the way I see it and so does everyone else. Christians make up an extremely large percentage of the world's population and should be displayed at WDW just like all other religions.
I think people will always have a problem of sorts with Christianity. It's because Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, the life. No man comes to the Father but by me." Pretty definitive words which say Jesus is the only way to heaven. Kind of makes it hard to go with the "all religions are equal" stance if you look at his words.

I don’t think those stories aren’t covered because networks don’t want to cover religious acts of violence. They don’t get covered because US news media generally turns its back on world events as they don’t draw ratings unless there are Americans involved. Its sad, but if a single one of those girls was an American and white and blonde (or some combination of the three) it would dominate the news cycle for months, pressure would be put on the government, and we’d probably send in special forces to rescue them.

I think Christians are currently represented the same as other religions. There are small, subtle religious elements in the various pavilions that are influenced by those religions. Like the Stave Church. The gigantic Jesus statue viewable from everywhere is a little different, and I can see why those of other religions might be put off by it. Especially given the context of its existence in Brazil to begin with. I don't care personally, but I can see why others would.

Yeah, I feel like Greece gets forgotten. And India. Greece and India have always seemed like the easiest additions from a culinary, shopping, and iconic architecture standpoint.

And, quite frankly, an attraction standpoint. A ride based on Greek mythology would be a great addition -- either a simply summary of a story (say, the Odyssey or Jason and the Argonauts) like the Sindbad ride in Tokyo or a unique storyline using the Greek gods for the framing device (like the Poseidon thing at IOA).

Edit: I'll point out that Egypt would work well in the same way.

I would like more counties too and attractions in each. I do not think Russia is possible right now for political reasons. I also don't think Isreal is unless Egypt is added too. Adding both along with Brazil would be what I would want but I don't expect them. My favorite time to visit is Food and Wine so the more countries the better. Let's all live in peace and respect each other.

Just guessing... But I would think it might be a bigger issue as a terrorist target than anything else. A giant christian symbol within one of the largest Capitalist American symbols? Yeah... We won't be seeing that anytime soon.
It's probably going to be just as tall as the Eiffel Tower, it's not like they are building a full scale copy.

What if instead of having a cartoon rat as the ambassador of the France Pavilion, they went with a "real person"... somebody along the same lines as Ben Franklin and Mark Twain in the American Pavilion... somebody Disney could easily create attractions around... HEY I KNOW!!! How 'bout this guy?

Disney's got lots stuff base on his work already, like this one

I would say this guy: Georges Melies, his films were used in the beginning of horizons and I would love to see him back in the park. He was a pioneer of the silent film industry and was a real revolutionary, not to mention French.

I thought I was the only one thinking about Jules Verne. And why not add H.G. Wells to UK while we are changing things. There are virtually no WS connections of literature as culture.

I still think it could work out. I do agree that DHS would be the most fitting place for it, Pixar Place needs some Pixar attractions after all, I just don't think that having it in the World Showcase is unacceptable. So here's a question - if they did do it in DHS, where at Pixar Place would be the most appropriate for it?

Perhaps they could expand the movie streets at DHS and have a French street or plaza for Ratatouille.

You don't want a literature overload, needs balance. I would suggest Georges Melies A Trip to The Moon in France and Isles of Wonder in UK.

Isles of Wonder is a ride that takes you through the beautiful lands of the UK and you watch them evolve into Industrial centers. If you want to see a stage version then watch the London 2012 Opening Ceremonies 'Pandemonium' section.

Overload? There is virtually none in the WS.

What I'm saying is you do not want a literature based ride next to another. Not saying we should not have them, but that it needs to fit with the pavilion and it's not smart to have them to just have them.

It's like the planned French CircleVision, they pulled it because they felt one circlevisions on opening day were enough.
