Post Something You Miss

I have only been to WDW 3 times, and they have all been within the past 3 years, so I don't have any old things that I miss. Instead, here are the general things I miss being all the way up here in chilly, rainy Seattle:

1. Being in Disney World
2. The Chicken Cous Cous at Restaurant Marrakesh
3. The boat ride from POR to DTD

I miss Push, the talking trash can. One of my first memories from a WDW trip occured in 2002, when 4-year-old-me got one of those Seven Dwarfs rubber toy sets. And while I was sitting at a table somewhere in Tomorrowland, Push comes over to me and we get into a debate over who owns the Grumpy toy.

I really miss the theming from the Living Seas. It really felt like you had been taken to the ocean floor and were in an amazing place. The aquarium is still cool, but something left for me when you stopped having to ride the "elevators" to get to Sea Base Alpha. I wish my kids could have shared in that experience.

#1 on the list would be the Original 'Journey Into Imagination' Attraction.
Absolute crime that was closed and gutted, and under such dubious 'reasons' behind it.

#2 would be 'WorldPassports'.
Remember them?
This was what the ticket media was called back in the early 1980s right after EPCOT Center opened.
I miss paying $35 for a Three Day 'Park Hopper' that never expired...ever...until I did.

#3 would be EPCOT Center.
I really miss the exciting forward thinking environment that it used to be back in its first decade.
There was nothing like it in the world, and countless things there impacted a entire generation.
So depressing now to see what it has become..a shallow shadow of its former self.

#4 would tie into the above, in that I miss a Walt Disney Company that used to be daring, take creative risks, and push the envelope of entertainment options.
At one time, no one could touch Disney when it came to Theme Parks and the attractions within them.
Slowly over time the desire to raise the bar has seemed to dwindle...and now is glimpsed only occasionally.
I miss that time when everything released was a enhancement and improvement, and not a disappointment or a cheap cut back.

I miss the old Imagination so much it hurts.
Since I'll be back to this place a week from now, (well only downstairs) I was just thinking how I can almost still see and feel my hands and arms pressed against the pin tables they had upstairs...Just like it was yesterday but the last time must have been about 25 years ago...Horizons I'm ok with it not there, but original Journey pavilion gone...yeah that's a punch in the gut every time I'm there now.
