Post Something You Miss

I miss Push the trash can. I do like fastpass+, but I miss the fun of waking up really early to rush to get your favorite ride's fast pass. Where mom and sister would go get Space Mountain fastpass at the beginning of the day while I went to get a snack for breakfast..

If you miss the money, then maybe you should have not given it to them or stop giving to them in the future. I don't miss the money because of all the fun we had and the memories that we keep. Disney now just gets less and less of my money based on my perception of value and quality for the amount I won't miss.

I'm sorry I keep forgetting people on the internet take silly things like this way to seriously, I crawl back into my hole now...

Horizons but I know by now it would have been gone or changed from what it was as it would have been considered dated if it were here today but that ride means a lot to me so I'm happy it didn't stay open and get changed (like test track).

Other things I miss off the top of my head are:

Speaking of test track...the original version. Again it was dated before it closed but the theme and purpose of the ride made sense this new version I like the designing the car thing to kill time in line even though I do single rider but there is no story line and everything is just blue and it goes too fast through the ride. I only go on it once a trip for the outside portion.

The Concourse Steakhouse at the Contemporary. Was a first day lunch on every trip. Great food.

The Main Street Bakery and more specific the coffee crumb cake (I have yet to find the old style anywhere on property; the current version is too dry)

Not having to stress about my trip. I leave in two weeks and have been really busy and was not able to plan my days out so I knew which fast passes to get so at under 30 days out I can't get seven dwarfs mine train. I only want a couple dining reservations too and didn't have time to book those yet so I think I'm out of luck but will keep my fingers crossed that I can make time this week and get what I want.

This one is hard to explain but the feel of the early days of Animal Kingdom. Even after Everest was open it was still fine as I love that ride but maybe I feel this way for personal reasons and maybe because Avatar is being built. I know it will be cool but it doesn't fit there.

I think in general I miss the 80s Epcot and the 90s into early 2000s as I was a kid/teen then so again for personal reasons but it seemed so much better back then but I still go twice a year but it just feels different and it's not necessarily a bad thing it's just different.

I know I have more and will post them as I think of them. I enjoy seeing others thought too like the Mickey butter.

Actually it's "I bless the rains down in Africa," but hey, there's a bathroom on the right.

And the chair is not my size, but I digress. Ditto on the Main Street Bakery and the stupid thing I miss are the napkins at Whispering Canyon, they used to be bandanas now they are just solid colored kapkins.

I miss the napkins that had Walt Disney World and a design on them. Now they are plain and boring.

Also I liked the old resort TV, Have a zip a dee do da tip for today.

Amen. The reason the original Test Track was much better is that it seemed to have a true "Epcot" feel, teaching you about what goes into testing cars. Nice theme that made sense from the build up in the pre show, to the actual ride where tests were performed.

The current ride is relatively flat on the learning side, barely scratching the surface of how car design impacts performance. You realize very quickly the car you "designed" has no impact on the ride and is essentially a time waster before entering a pseudo "futuristic" main attraction. After the first ride, you realize it's essentially the same ride with the lights turned off, fluorescent accents, a computerized narrator, and zero substance.

Just awful.

I loved the music, the colors and the theme of it. But at least it was replaced with...oh wait, it wasn't replaced. Just stopped. Still not quite over that yet.
We seen this a few trips ago and thought it was pretty cool. We don't spend a lot of time in AK and with all of the construction I assumed we either missed it or it was on hold. I never realized they got rid of it all together.
