Possible Frontierland expansion

That was my first thought when Chapek mentioned more SEA at the parks and even said as much. It would easily fall right in right next the existing offerings as a classic. It fits perfectly in theme, and would make an excellent addition from a variety of ride system and tone side.

My only hesitation would be:

That thought had crossed my mind. Still the two have very different tones, and with a new ride system Mystic Manor would probably work well. Though I could see some restraint.

You have two choices for an attraction set in the early 20th century that does not primarily deal with increasing love of nature, respect of nature, or presenting solutions on how to live in a greater degree of coexistence with nature. You can choose one of two parks:
1) A park that does deal with increasing love of nature, respect of nature, and presenting solutions on how to live in a greater degree of coexistence with nature. Accomplishing this mission while set entirely in the modern world (except for Pathetic Pandora).
2) Or a fantasy park that already has an area within the park that is specifically themed to the early 20th Century, and which already pokes fun at the profiteering of colonial explorers in Jungle Cruise.

Disney's Animal Kingdom is the one park in the entire chain that simply must have purpose built attractions.

I haven't been on Mystic Manor (I will next month) and haven't seen any spoilers (the self restraint). My understanding of the plot is an explorer has pillaged landscapes around the globe, opened a museum, and the monkey and idol don't mix well. None of that is really in line with Disney's Animal Kingdom. You could say there's a anti robbery from historic sites bent to the thing, but that's a little weak and doesn't fall in line with the purpose of the park.

You'd really have to be stretching to say Mystic Manor fits in very well at Disney's Animal Kingdom. Not that I won't love the ride (I'm beyond hyped) and that it could actually be built there. I'm just saying there's no comparison between which land is more suitable.

You may be right, but I want Mystic Manor because it's an original non IP highly immersive ride. Any replacement would simply have Pixar or WDAS characters.

Bring on the clone!
I did not think of it from that perspective...I was just thinking Exotic Jungle location... But that makes sense, and in that case, Adventureland WOULD make a better fit...though I am not sure there is room for it near the Jungle Cruise...looks like you would have to fill in the waterway across from Aloha Isle and reclaim that land backing up to the Crystal Palace... Still not sure the show building would fit though.

It would be nice if they made a new attraction (not a replacements of something existing) with the tech from MM and tied it to a different IP. The possibilities are endless, and an attraction like this could easily fit in any of the 4 parks depending on IP.

Said it before and I'll say it again... Mystic Manor, except with Figment (in the role of Albert the monkey) and Dreamfinder (in the role of Lord Mystic) as a replacement for Journey into imagination. Instead of a magic box, you have Dreamfinder putting Figment to bed, but instead of falling asleep, Figment talks about how he can't sleep with so many ideas going through his head. The room starts to come alive and the ride progresses from there with many scenes reminiscent of the original attraction. The ride crescendos into the final scene which is a descent into Figment's nightmare only for everything to go black and the next scene you see Figment waking up and realizing it was all a dream.

You solve the issue of Journey currently being a lack-luster attraction, you reintroduce Dreamfinder (beloved by many), and you get to reuse tech that you've already used (in several places now) with success... seems like a win-win for all...

The sad thing is they already have a building for this....

My take on the Mystic Manor style for Imagination would be taking some elements from the Figment some of the stories from the Figment comics. The comics are just begging for possibilities for what a new version of JIH would be.

Perhaps a thread over in Imagineering could be really cool for this concept. I would love to see you guy's and others ideas!

The 50th would've been perfect for a new expansion *cough* new WRE with Shanghai Pirates tech *cough*, oh well.

So they do nothing and give us cupcakes and t-shirts? ;)

I hate to sound like ford (sorry buddy! lol) at this point but I have little faith in them at this point.

Pan needs an overhaul (at least get rid of the dang tent facade if they can't bother with the inside). Space Mountain needs an overhaul. Expansions are needed. I mean, I could make a loooong list. But they can't even switch out 20 year old stage shows at DHS.

Let's hope Burbank forces things on TDO because they do nothing.
