The new graveyard queue addition is highly-detailed and has lots of effects and it still sucks

I don't trust the current crop of imagineers to do anything to the Mansion right now.
Didn't the current crop do the great 2007 refurb though? Or are some of the people who did that gone now?

In one of the pictures there are what looks like little hardcover books with white spines and they say haunted mansion, anyone know what those are or even for sale or just props?

From the photos, the Disney Merchandise team finally delivered some amazing UNQIUE products in a fantastically immersive space. This is a home run and reinstates my confidence in the WDW management. I hope they make a mint so the strategy is duplicated in many other locations. This was obviously thought-out and not haphazardly put together like so many other "money grabs". (i.e. DHS Frozen)

A job well done! I'm going to be broke. Keep it coming and don't dilute the space overtime!

Yes! This is a great move for WDW. I'm quick to voice my displeasure with what's wrong, but it's so much better giving them props when something is well done. Now, repeat with SM, JC, and all the other underrepresented attractions. It has been awhile since I've been in the MK, so maybe this has been done, but if not, I hope they continue.

Must have those book ends.

@Beholder whatever you buy, you gotta get one for me too!! (Esp, the foolish mortal tank top)

Thanks. :inlove:

Does anybody know any more details about the guest photos? It looks awesome and was just curious as to what exactly it is.

From the description and pictures, it looks like they apply some effects so you appear ghostly and use two photos for a holographic effect. I really like how the camera they're using is themed as an antique. That's an experience and souvenir worth buying.

Now that's very definitely without a doubt the absolutely most depressing and bleak giftshop name in the history of Disney parks, Memento Mori - Remember that you have to die! Thanks a lot.
But I like the shop and the merchandise there, it was absolutely necessary to give one of the most popular and legendary rides in the history of Disney parks a worthy giftshop instead of that cart.

While I love the idea of a dedicated merchandise shop for the mansion, I'm a little disappointed that there aren't any "in-store effects" (unless I missed that somewhere). It could've been all set up through the MagicBands to launch the effect.

I'm a huge fan of the photo-op though!

Yep there are effects, I mentioned it in the article.

It would be tough to browse, make a selection and check out at the register all while riding a conveyer belt intent on putting you out! :)

Not hard at all. Magic Bands for the win! The ghostly pictures often rumored are going to replace the "playful spirits" with the merchandise for sale. If you grab at it, your MB will be billed, and the merch auto delivered to your resort for pickup.

If it were just some random ghostly themed merchandise, ok. But if they start selling Haunted Mansion plates and marble busts and tombstones directly from the HM at the ToT gift shop, that's poor.
NO NO NO!

They need to bring back more of the Hollywood Tower Hotel merchandise and have less of the stuff with Mickey and Goofy as bell hops.

As others have said attraction specific should be in the shop for that ride, plus a small selection of the most popular in the "Main Street" shop for that park so you can buy on the way out what you forget to get earlier.

I think the ToT gift show has a good mix of merchandise that is Hollywood Tower branded, and Tower of Terror w/characters. (At least it did when I was last there two years ago) Not all little tykes want a HT bathrobe as a souvenir. The character merchandise, as long as it is ToT specific, should be ok for the gift show. Generic Disney Parks merch, should not be in these shops.
