What a great addition to a classic Disney ride! Moves like this give me hope for the future... I know it is not an attraction but it offers a great experience after and a chance to bring something home. ( I couldn't find the pun wording for "a ghost will follow you home... hahaha ha ha"!)

Hm. Can't say if I like how bright/generic it looks or not.
On the one hand, it's clearly not intended to be "part of the mansion" so there's no reason why it should look like it.
On the other hand, it's sort of boring.

Glad they finally opened a store, though. This is probably the only instance of my actually wanting an additional store that wasn't there.

YES!!!! It looks like a great assortment of merch too! The Ghost Host stuff is a must have. Can't wait!
Too bad it's wrong. Officially, the Foyer portrait is not the Ghost Host, but actually, this guy. Note the noose around his neck and the clothing being a match to the hanging corpse. Also Marc Davis's original sketches labeling it as "Ghost Host".

Imagineering has also been insistent on keeping a separation between the Ghost Host and Master Gracey in recent years, so yeah, somebody in merchandising is gonna be in trouble.

What if they were in the ToT gift shop? I think there's an argument either way with a shop that has a similar ambiance.

NO NO NO!

They need to bring back more of the Hollywood Tower Hotel merchandise and have less of the stuff with Mickey and Goofy as bell hops.

As others have said attraction specific should be in the shop for that ride, plus a small selection of the most popular in the "Main Street" shop for that park so you can buy on the way out what you forget to get earlier.

They're also fond of incorrectly attributing the "If you can dream it, you can do it" quote to Walt Disney. I had to laugh when I saw it plastered all over the Disney Dream merchandise. Of course, that's a common mistake, but still, do a little fact checking beforehand...

Wow, this is a great addition to MK! As long as DD doesn't mind DW blowing her college fund here. Every trip for 10 years my wife has asked why HM (her favorite attraction) doesn't have a gift shop.

From the pictures I seen, I think that this is just another example of Disney turning things around in the last few years and doing it the right way once again. Attention to detail. I can not wait to get there this month.

Except for the whole "could have been inside catacombs at the exit of the ride rather than mostly restocking an existing store location somewhat near the attraction" part.

I'm not complaining... There's a BUNCH of stuff in this store that I want. And it seems to be all attraction specific, which is AWESOME. But as usual, the best and biggest plans were left in the dust in favor of the easy money grab.

How do you know that would've actually been possible? There's a long tunnel leading out of the Mansion, but it's not obvious to me that any of the surrounding space is large enough or disposable enough to be reconfigured in that way.

Was this a rumor at one point? I never heard about it.
