I just wanted to say that if anyone was on the fence about getting PhotoPass+, I whole heartedly 100% recommend getting it! I am currently going through my pictures! They must have taken over 150 of us! And all the meal and ride pics! Its just amazing!!

I'm adding the pics to my trip report right now and love being able to relive the entire trip!!

On a personal note - and I have no factual basis for this except that I heard 2 cast members say this to me - I feel that the photographers do more if they see you have PP+. I had 2 cast members say to me "lets take some fun shots - you have PP+" and "I'm going to take a lot, you have PP+". Again, it could just be the timing of when I was there or the photographer who was shooting but either way, I felt like we got loads of great shots and special attention.

I found this as well and I wondered if it was because the CMs know you have already paid up front for the CD and you're trying to get your money's worth. With regurlar PP the CMs don't know if you've bought the CD, or if you plan on the buying the CD, or whatever... but the red lanyard can only mean one thing - you've already forked out the money! I found quite a few CMs comment on the PP+ and when I told them we were a family reunion trying to get lots of family pictures together they totally had fun with us. There were times I felt bad for other families waiting b/c the CMs would get so carried away with snapping pics of us. My first experience with PP+ was quite good. I wouldn't get it on every trip but big family trips are so worth it and the on ride photos are awesome.

It may have already been said, but you need to preorder the PP+ well in advance of your trip b/c they actually mail you the coupon (so you need mailing time factored in). I unfortunately did not do this and had to pay regular price in the parks - however I still feel I got my money's worth!

Thanks for all the info! This sounds great, and really convenient to have. I'll have to think about getting it for our trip. With a 1 year old, we probably won't be doing most of the rides where they take your picture. And we didn't book too many meals because we just have no idea what to expect with her! At the same time though, it's just the 3 of us, so we'll probably be getting tons of photo pass pictures. So it might still be worth it to do, especially if they sometimes do extra for PP+ members. Decisions, decision!

Where is this fairy wing picture?! I thought I looked at all your pictures, but I don't remember that one!

Photopass itself is the service that WDW/DLR use to take your pictures in park. The PhotoCD is one of the products they offer using the pictures they took in park. The PhotoCD includes a copy of all the pictures and edits of the pictures in your account. Photopass+ is a fancy Photopass card that entitles you to the ride/dining pictures for "free" instead of having to buy them individually. The purchase of Photopass+ includes a voucher for the PhotoCD. Pre-purchase is $119 for the PhotoCD alone, or $169 for the Photopass+. Photopass+ must be pre-ordered at least 14 days prior to your trip as they may you a voucher to redeem in park. They are both available for purchase in park, but cost more.

Re-read my above post. The lanyard is only part of the Photopass+ service. The Photopass+ card comes attached to the lanyard to help you keep track of it. If you lose the card, they won't give you another. If you have the PhotoCD, either as being included through a Photopass+ purchase, or if you just pre-bought the PhotoCD, you can ask them to take a bunch saying you already bought the CD. I always did that pre Photopass+, and they were usually more than happy to oblige.

As I mentioned above, they usually have no problems doing extra photos, especially if they are slow w/no line. Any I do notice them taking more shots when small kids are involved. Both because families like having pictures, and to try to get a good shot of the child, as getting them to smile, look at the camera, etc can be tough. I do recommend having a few poses, family combos, etc thought of in advance. Otherwise you will more than likely end up with a wide angle, close up, then a close up giving a #1, peace sign, or thumbs up type pose. Some of the photographers are more creative, others just do the same shots for everyone. The photographers seem to feed off the guests. Anytime we seem to be be into the picture, they tend to take more. But just standing there still and smiling, they just take the pics and move on. But getting into it, silly poses, specific things, they tend to like, heck probably helps to break up the monotony a bit.

It was taken off to the side by the bridge between france and UK. For her first trip - I would get it for sure! Are you dining anywhere? I mean, if not dining or doing rides, then you might just get the regular photopass. Just ask for the magic shots. :)

Sorry for any confusion. You can preorder both photopass or photopass + cd's. This is to get the money savings by preordering. However, you do need (really should) buy the photopass+ ahead of time so you get the package ahead of time. this way you don't loose any picture opportunities (rides/meals) in the parks with the photopass+. As for the laynard, its just a way to distinguish between the photopass+ (that and its red) and the regular photopass.

Oh how cute - I love it!! I definitely need to try to get this one, especially for Kacie. I don't know if I could get her to stand still - she loves to run around now. My goal for trying to get a pic of her holding Tink is to put a piece of clear tape on the back of her hand. She'll usually stop and mess with it. Thanks for the location info on the fairy wings!

I love your pixie wing pic. That is so cute! I am doing the regular photopass CD in December because I don't really ride the rides that have pics and I am only doing 1 character meal. When I told the photographers last time that I had purchased the CD, they took a ton of pics for us.

Love the photopass plus! Took 200 pictures! Waiting for the CD to arrive anyday. Was very easy to add boarders and order CD. Pre savings was great and worth every penny! Got lots of the magic shoots too!

Question...well, sort of. ;)

For those of you that do Photopass+ or at least normally buy the CD, how many pictures on avg are you taking with Photopass photogs? I know this # goes up when you add in meal pics and ride pics, but on avg...how many Photopass pics are you winding up with in the end vs. pics you've taken on your personal camera? And even deeper- out of the pics you've gotten on those CDs...how many would you have skipped buying if you were just buying individual pics?

I'm just going through the dilemma I have before every more recent trip...i.e. is it worth it for us??? On our girls' first trip we took around 37 Photopass pics, but had a little over 1,300 personal pics. Out of the 37 Photopass pics from that trip, only 1 was something I'd purchase...but I wound up getting 3 since I had a buy 2 get 1 free deal- and I do like a deal :D . On our girls' second trip... we took around 16 or 17 Photopass pics and close to 2,000 personal pics. Not a single Photopass pic was worth buying. We also pretty much never buy the meal pics. In fact, even when they're included with the meal- I've preferred mine. This trip DH and I have upgraded our phones(i.e. more camera pics) + I anticipate taking at least another 2,000 pics on my DSLR...so I'm finding it really tough to justify doing Photopass+ or even the regular Photopass CD.

Any thoughts?

I average about 10 to 12 pics per day from photo pass photographers between park pics by the icons and with characters. And then they usually take 3 to 5 pics per photo location and opportunity. So its a lot of photos. After I added all the borders for the pics and all the options with all the photos, I had almost 800 photopass pics. I had 169 pics taken by the photo pass photographers, including the rides and meals.

When it's just our family of 4 we average around 200 or so pictures. When it's extended family we get a lot more or a family reunion (which this past trip was) we were at 500 pictures. I personally would never pay the price for one or two pictures. I've always pre-ordered so I'm making sure to take lots of pics and get my money's worth. In the past, there have been enough pictures that I've liked to justify the cost of the CD. This past trip we used the PP+ and we DEFINITELY got our money's worth on that one.

So if I order a cd I can take it to Walmart and get the photos printed? I would assume that's cheaper than buying all of them from the photopass site.
\

Yes! That's the point of the CD actually. You have the rights to print the pictures yourself! It's incredibly cheaper depending on the number of pictures you have taken.

I know how the whole PP+ works except for one question. If I go on EE 5 times, all 5 rides photos can get added to the PP+ without paying extra for the digital downloands?
