Well us being avid Disney fans a lot of us are guilty of thinking about the negatives. Rightfully so we do want the best, but I think there is too much negativity. Im hoping this thread can bring back some magic. I want people to write about why they love Disney so much and their most memorable time.

For me what makes Disney so great is a combination of things. The attention to detail. The power of song, and shows. But, Most importantly to me is the escapement. Entering the parks and leaving the real world behind. All the details make it seem like a completely different world. Sure the food helps, along with the attractions, and the best shows ever. hmmmmm :ROFLOL:. Anyone care to share?

Oh ya and my most memorable time is being with the seven dwarfs with NOBODY around just my family and them for close to twenty minutes!

 Great thread and much needed considering the negativity, as you said.

What Disney means to me goes beyond words. It's my hobby, my passion, a way for me to escape yet connect...it's so much. When I'm having a crappy day, I think of WDW and it helps. Oh hell, when I'm having the best day ever, it's still ever present in my mind!
I also love the attention to detail, music, and the theming. Disney is something that had been in my life from as far back as I can remember and it will always be a huge part of me no matter what.

And what makes it even more important to me now is that I get to share it with someone I love very much.
He has always loved Disney but now that we're together, he's super into it from the planning, researching, following news, and of course actually going!
It's a great thing to share and enjoy together.

As for a memorable moment...there have been so many to pick only one!
I'll have to say my most memorable moment would probably be our entire last trip!
I wrote about it in my blog...it was just perfect.

I really can't put into words what Disney means to me. I love it so much!!!!

As far as the negativity, as long as we go around looking for offense we will find it. Whether in the form of bad service, mean people, or things just not going the way we want, sometimes just looking past those things and trying to make the experience better usually works for me.

Can I say it again? I LOVE DISNEY!!!!!

Perfectly put!! It is amazing what some people find fault with....Yes you can go there and nit pick this or that ....wheather its like you said the service, other vactioners, resorts , buses...etc...while on your vacation...Yes we've had things not so pleasant happen....what can you do?? When I'm at disney , I'm there with my family...we've waited and planned and saved and I'll be damned if I'm gonna let those negative things ruin my vaction with my kids!!!
Seeing my girls faces when we see the" Walt Disney World "Sign, priceless...

No matter how many times we are forunate to go...Every time we do go is very special.....
I look at it this way as well, as A child , I did'nt get a chance to do the things my kids get to do..My parents were divorced before I could remember, and there were no family trips....I had a great childhood but I missed out on that..

So to be able to offer it to my kids, and hear their excitement about upcoming trips and past memories , no matter what age they were at...ITs so worth it!!!!

I Love Disney!!! There we can escape, Our family time.....:)

What makes Disney so great? ALL OF IT... Beginning back from that moment you first decide to go, start making plans, reservations, packing the car, drive under the arch on the way in, enter the turnstyle, the music, the smells, that feeling you only get when you are there, smiles on family member faces, the food, shows, shopping, fireworks, and when you shut the light off at bedtime and your totally exhausted from having spent yet another wonderful day in the World. :D

I agree with almost everyone. It is so hard to put into words. It is my escape from the reality. I cried last time when we got on the magical express to go home:(
This is the year that I finally get to see Tinker Bell so I'm sure that will be my most memorable moment.
One of the best things about Disney is this, while she will make fun of me for my obsessiveness about Disney, these trips are when my daughter and I connect the most.

For me Disney is an escape from the day to day struggle of life. It is the one place in the world where I can go with my four children and be sure that every detail is being minded by someone else. If the toilet overflows at midnight....I can call the front desk. If I'm hungry....someone will have food for me and clean it up! No one minds that my eldest child can't read because of her disabilities. No one cares that it's just the 5 of us because their dad works in Iraq. It's an escape.

It's an escape because no matter what anyone negatively says the people who work at Disney care. They care about making my vacation special. They care. Sure, there are always a few bad eggs in every basket. But, overall, Disney cares about quality, about service, about details....about their guests experiences.

That's why I love Disney and always will.

To me, Disney means no matter your physical age, you can be a kid again. :animwink: Any vacation is what you make of it. Anybody can find fault with something, the trick is to look past the "bad" experience, like not so good service you can get sometimes , and remember that you are at the Happiest Place on Earth, and Enjoy! You only live once, so don't sweat the small stuff!

Everything about WDW is exciting and fun for me. I would rather go and have a good time, be entertained and enjoy myself than show up and go out of my way to find things that dissapoint me and that I am unhappy with. Because to be honest, you really, really have to spend a heck of a lot more valuable time and effort to be unhappy and dissapointed in WDW than you do to be pleased.

But, such is the life of folks who think they are the only ones to be catered to.

I love WDW because it's the only place in the world where you can have breakfast in Norway, go on an adventure with pirates, travel into the movies, go on an African Saffari, and wind up in Paris for dinner in on day.

The responsibility shouldn't be on the guests to just "look past" poor service. If Disney wants to continue being thought of as the "Happiest Place on Earth", then they should have more accountability for CMs who aren't up to the job of making their guests' vacation experience enjoyable and special. It's not the guests' responsibility to uphold Disney's image and reputation by having to "look past" unacceptable behavior just because a particular CM happens to be having a bad day, or can't hack doing the job they willingly accepted and are being paid to do.
