I would gladly accept as I am expecting and will take a seat when I can but if I see an elderly person or child I would gladly give my seat up. I would not be offended if a gentleman gave up his seat for me. I know where I come from this is taught at an early age. My husband still holds the door for me and will always open the car door for me still after all these years. Chilvary and respect goes a long way. People should learn and try it sometime!:)

To be honest with you tired or not, I try not to get on crowded buses, I usually wait for the next one. I don't like to be stuffed on a bus as if I am going to work in NYC. I am on vacation and I can wait. :) hehehe...it's a nice gesture though not many gentlemen in the world any more

I would decline, unless I was holding a very young child.

I would also think he was a very nice gentlemen, just like my husband is. One of the many reasons I fell in love with my husband is that he is a perfect gentlemen...he will always offer his seat to anyone, hold doors open for everyone, and after 17 years together he even still opens my car door for me....which I love. :)

I think we're married to the same person for the same reasons. LOL! And for 17 years, too!!!!

It looks like most would decline but thank the gentleman. That leads to the question of whether women should really complain that chivalry is dead if we are not going to take the men up on their chivalrous offers. If they don’t offer we question them and if they do offer we decline. I don’t find the offer sexist or annoying and I feel if the man is a big enough Gentleman to offer, then I should be just as much of a Lady and accept. Besides… it is MK… paradise…. Shouldn’t we all indulge our fantasies and pretend we are all loving caring people?? LOL

apparently on this forum we're only supposed to look at chivalry from the giving end...not the receiving end.

Unless and until I am medically unable to stand up on a bus for whatever reason I'm not going to take you up on the offer. Its cute though.

Honestly, I work downtown and ride a bus to work everyday. People on these boards seriously need to stop gripping about the crowded Disney buses. At least everyone waits patiently in line for the bus to arrive. At least, when you get on a packed bus at the end of the night at Disney World, you aren't squeezed next to a waited homeless person who hasn't changed their soild clothes in years and is mumbaling to themselves about the aliens in their head.

Not old, just vintage.
If a man offers me a seat I usually take it unless there is someone else around who looks like they need it more. I am young and in decent health, but in WDW I will never turn down a chance to sit.

For what its worth, I don't complain that chivalry is dead. It doesn't bother me if a man doesn't go out of his way to do something for a women. I think people should just be generally polite to one another.

I will accept the seat if:
1) there is no one older than me
2) a lady with child
3) or if am in pain ( my Knees and/or back)

And a BIG thank you to any gentlemen that does offer their seat.

Exactly. After walking allll day sometimes for several days I want nothing more than to sit!!

if there is no one else standing who i feel may need the seat more (older person, injured person, child, people with children, etc), then i will gladly take the seat. . . in my opinion it is quite magical to see chivalry anywhere nowadays and it really is a little thing that makes my day after a long day at the park....

also, i have given up my seat for people older or with little kids so i feel it evens out...

some consider it sexist.

Wow, if someone actually found it sexist and/or offensive, then i was wrong in the first place for choosing that person to offer my seat to. Seriously, get a grip and realize when someone is trying to do something nice for you. Why people in this day and age have to look more into a gesture than what's really there is beyond me.

I offer my seat to the elderly, obviously the handicap, women, women with children, age does not matter... I'm in my early 30's, good shape and it wouldn't kill me to stand another 15 minutes on a short bus ride.

To the caveman who said he waited patiently in line and would sit no matter what, i feel badly for you.

Yes
some consider it sexist.

So then I guess you lose no matter what you do. You're an A hole if you ask some women because they are so high and mighty....but then you're an A hole if you do not because technically it's the right thing to do. Here is a solution...Remove all the seats from the buses. Everyone stands because a few people don't know how to act.
