We're supposed to get 5 - 8 inches. There's 2 or 3 out there now and it's coming down hard.

Have I mentioned the total disgust I have for this?

So.... we ended up with about 10 - 12 inches of snow here, and as of this morning the snow blower is officially dead. Time to move South I say!

We got rain mostly - with a dusting overnight. We did manage to make a snowboy with a snow dog (note the leash to the snowboy's hand) and a snow cat. Used up almost all of the the snow on the front lawn.

So the other day I was at my sister's in-laws (also Disney freaks) and announced, "let's play the waiting game". I pulled out my phone and asked my mom, "So, what do you think Soarin' is at". My sister's sister-in-law looked at me befuddled and said, "you check wait times when you're not at the parks???" So I replied, "I do during super busy times when I would NEVER go - I think it's funny". So looked at me like I was a freak and started walking out of the room, then quickly turned and asked, "What's Toy Story at?". I laughed and said, "Everybody mocks the game but then they all want to play!!!!"

Well off to furniture show. My parents offered to watch the kids for a few hours (they have my sister's kids and sometimes it's easier with more since they occupy each other) so we're going to go buy the dining room and bedroom sets we have been eyeing and obsessing over for years. We've been in the house 10 years - it's time to have a place to put my fancy dishes!

We got a nifty little netbook for Christmas, so I've wasted several hours fooling around with it. It won't replace taking the laptop with us in February, but it will be fun to have around I guess.

I've been sorting brass to clean so my husband can use the reloader I got him for Christmas. I could try out my new megaphone, but the neighbors might object.

I picked up some nice filet mignon, fresh salad ingredients, fresh mushrooms, and baking potatoes. We got lots of wine for Christmas, plus a bottle of bubbly, so we're all set. I really prefer to stay home these days.

We are obligated to go to Dave's brother's, but I'm really not a fan of New Year's Eve. Fortunately he only lives a mile or so away, so driving home with all the drunks on the road isn't too bad. I would much prefer a quiet evening at home though.

So the decorations are down, the tree is out at the curb in the snow, Aand the uneaten Christmas cookies are in the trash.
Now to pack!!

I started taking everything down, and putting things away, but was interrupted by an impromptu party when my husband brought some friends home, and our neighbors dropped by - many Bloody Marys and glasses of wine were consumed.

All outside on the patio - the weather was perfect.

Yesterday was rough (1st Xmas without Mom), but we got through it. Keeping Dad occupied & his mind off things really helps. He seemed to have a good Xmas despite it all.
No snow either!! :( *runs outside and does snow dance in front lawn while chanting*

Hope everyone had a great day (which sounds so far like everyone did).

Now begins...DIET season! That's right folks...I'm for real this time.

*Edit* Diet failed. Tomorrow begins diet season!
The first one was hard, but I expected it to be. Her absence was an overpowering presence. It was strained.

The next year, I thought I was ready for it, having had such a hard time the year before. I was sure it would be easier. So, I didn't brace myself. And it ended up sucker punching me.

The third one was much better. We were getting used to her being gone, I guess. I don't think a Christmas will ever pass that I don't think of her, but it isn't hard now. It's so cliche, but time really does help. I realize it isn't much consolation. There really isn't any consolation I can give. I wish there was. I will say a prayer for you.

Good luck on your diet! Tomorrow. :)

So my dad forwarded me a Disney email he got yesterday with a special offer for trips in Spring 2013. All he wrote was, "let the solicitations begin".
