Yeah, that's an issue too. Every year we go through the "Don't buy me anything - our FL trip is all I need", and then he goes out and spends a bunch of money on stuff I don't need, while I come up with an idea of something he could use only to have him buy it for himself the week before Christmas. Gotta love it!

One should not be allowed to buy ANYTHING for oneself the entire month of December.

Russ: "You think you might be overdoing it, Dad?"
Clark Griswold: "Russ, when was the last time I overdid anything?"

We live quite close to the airport, and our biggest fear in December is that some Southwest pilot will think they're runway lights....

So.... true conversation in the Nemo household today: Let me preface this by saying that today is Baking Day, followed by Clean-the-House evening, so I'm figuring we'll be pretty busy all day.

Me: *hears a rumbling in the basement, assumes Dave is doing laundry* "Everything OK down there?"
Dave: "I'll be up there in a minute"
*trudges up the stairs,so I assume he's carrying a basket of clothes* Smugly he says "Look what you forgot!"
I turn and look and he's carrying 2 boxes of Christmas snowmen dishes.
Me: "I didn't forget, I just hadn't planned to drag those out this year since we have nice new dishes in the cupboard anyway."
Dave: "But these are Christmas dishes!"
Me: "Don't you think they're a little juvenile, considering the youngest person here for Christmas Eve is 23? And besides, I don't have any room for them unless I pack up our good dishes, and I don't have time for that!"
Dave(sporting puupy eyes and a slight pout): "But they're Christmas dishes...."
Me: *sighing* "Fine, but I'll need something to store them in since I'm not packing up the good dishes."
He returns to the basement, fumbles around and finds 2 very dusty old crates. "These will work, right?"
Me: "I suppose...(waiting for his offer to clean them), but they need a good scrubbing....."
He places them in the bathtub and gets out a bottle of bleach. "Here you go!"
Me: *mutters*

Merry Christmas!
