Oct 1st - special surprises at MK?

that is disappointing. I thought someone on here had mentioned that a special fireworks display was happening this Saturday. I was hoping for a special show instead of just Wishes with Perimeters on the finale.

It is disappointing. I thought I read somewhere that they were doing special fireworks, but like someone else pointed out they haven't promoted anything so I doubt they would spend the money on perimeter fireworks. I'll be here from 10am-12 pm probably with a afternoon trip to epcot for a few hours. I'm really hoping they have a few things up their sleeves.

I was looking forward to partaking in the free cupcake, but it's probably gonna be $3.95 and I'd rather spend that on a creme brulee...

Yea, Im pretty sure I read that too! We will be there to check out the 10am presentation, have a cupcake, then off to AK, most likely returning to MK for hopefully a little more than the normal "special" finale. Im also really hoping theres a few surprises that we dont already know about. Heres to hoping... :)

Oh joy, so it looks like all of the castle photos are going to have that blasted crane in the background. :fork: I was really hoping that they would have removed that before the big day.

Get both! :slurp: After all, you've had 40 years to save up for the event. :D

There was construction going on at the Magic Kingdom 40 years ago, too. :D

I feel the same way. Hopefully everything will wrap up pretty quickly for the 5k.

They should. Now admittedly last year it was held at the Poly and not at AK, but my wife and I walked it crossing the finish at about 46 minutes (not counting the 5 it took to cross the start line), and then walked to the Poly for breakfast. I changed in the restroom, and we hopped on the monorail for the MK. We caught the rope drop show, I went into the park, and my wife waited for a bus back to our resort.
Now the biggest issue this time would be a bus from AK to your resort, and then a bus to the MK. If you have a car it shouldn't be a problem, otherwise it may be tight. Just means you need to run fast......

Here's an update. Looks like the perimeter fireworks are a go along with Meg crofton doing a presentation it looks like.

Great, thanks. Even though its not much it should still be nice. I bet the special t-shirt is 40 bucks. I was hoping they would put out a new hardcover pictoral table book like they do every so often but doesnt look like it. They dont even have Then Now and Forever anymore.

Does anyone know what the crowd levels are predicted to be for Saturday? I imagine it would normally be low but with the birthday, it seems like it'll be crowded.

My Lines app says the MK is a 7.4 out of 10 crowd level, but WDW overall crowds are 4 out of 10. Btw I haven't forgot about you, I'll grab as much free stuff as possible. I'm really hoping for some commemorative guide maps.

I hope they do the guide maps also. Planning on being there myself but may not make it, but going to try my hardest!!
