Sadly, that seems to be the case with everything Disney throws at us that's Frozen related. I think a lot of us can remember a time when a new property came in and it was represented in the parks as either a stage show, parade, we would get excited because we knew it was to promote the new film and that it was going to be temporary until something else new came along. And, as Disney fans, we embraced them and there was room in our hearts to love them all. As the years went by, and the films became less popular, we grew to lower our expectations. I don't think anyone was upset that we never got the Chicken Little Experience or Meet the Robinsons Live on Stage Musical Revue, which is why Disney must have felt like they were caught off guard when Frozen became such a hit!
Last summer social media was on fire with DHS managers bragging how they got Frozen Summer Fun pulled together in 10 days, and quite honestly you could tell. And where a lot of the comments on the boards pointed out that it all looked cheap, the "howdeydodats" ate it all up, which gives them the thumbs up to continue at that rate.
Look, in November 2013, we all loved Frozen but the only ones that were shocked were the people that hold the purse. If they were to announce that we are going to take a chunk of land and devote it to telling the Frozen story properly in an immersive environment, I think the conversation on social media (including Disney Parks Blog) would look a whole lot different than what it looks like now.
