The problem is the poster. Uhh..if you think everything going on at WDW is declining and crappy, then why are you posting on a WDW fan website? If Tokyo and Disneyland are so much better, go be a part of their forum where he will find other like minded individuals. Nah, he'd rather post here though where he can stir the pot because that is more fun for people who troll message boards. There is no fun in just having honest conversation about the pros and cons of WDW. Lee seems to think he is "honest", but an honest person would be able to praise WDW where it succeeds, he does NONE of that.

The guys a joke. He's already on my ignore list, so if people would just stop quoting him I wouldn't have to read anything he says. Maybe I'll be lucky enough one day to run into him at a WDW event and I can spit in his Dole Whip and kick him in his zebra domes.

Oh...where do I start the funny thing is both posters HAVE the resources to go Disneyland or any foreign park when they want. One of them has been to every Disney resort. Now that I've finally gone to a foreign Disney resort and can see for myself how well it operates and how much more quality and value I'm getting with my money....I feel cheated by WDW.

Both posters have been going to WDW from the beginning and have seen the place turn from classy to aisle 99 at a big box store.

Both of them like WDW and try to see what little of quality or nostalgia they can get out of it, same with me, but when we visit Disneyland or a foreign Disney resort we are blown away by how well they are run.

WDW will still have some of the nicest CM's I've ever seen, the dole whips, the original Space Mountain, CoP, a restored Tiki Room, a nicely repainted main street, Epcot, the numerous themed resorts....but on a whole WDW is not offering anything remotely new and interesting since we got Everest and Midway Mania.

Yeah.

You turned it around illogically, but why would I expect anything else from you?

So I see I hit a nerve.

I pay top dollar for Disney vacations for my family.

I am happy to see there are critical people out there who keep Disney on its toes, that I may see a fully operational F! instead of an inferior product.

Problem is what he does and the snarky way in which he does it causes more harm to your cause than good. It just drowns out the voices of reasoned critiques. He just begins to sound like the adult voices in a Charlie Brown cartoon.

Lets face it, if having a hissy fit worked the AC would still be open and they would be getting ready to install the Lights of Winter at Epcot.

And to those of you who get played by a certain spirit over and over and over again, you might want to rethink your perspective. He is mocking you and you do not even realize it. In that respect, it is good having him around. Cuz' that part is funny. :D

Not talking about you EL, you just gave me the soap box.

This is getting good now. The trolls of a COMICal Place are now filing out of the woodwork.

I really do not have the time or inclination to go in and edit this whole thread to remove all of the insulting, button pushing terms thrown around.

Someone who comes on and expresses an opinion contrary to yours is not automatically a Troll, so please stop calling him/her one. And noticing what you perceive to be a decline in quality, and commenting on it, does not necessarily make you a Doom & Gloomer or WDW hater.

Just as pointing out your appreciation when WDW does something right, or having the opinion that you still feel that it is worthwhile, warts and all, does not make you a Fanboi or Pixie Dust Snorter.

Using labels is insulting, and interferes with polite discussion. Please stop using them!

Any further posts containing them will be deleted - not for what you are saying, but for how you are saying it. There has been a lot of bad behavior from both sides of this discussion.

Yeah, sure. Come in and spread some insight. Im all for it, but give me the good if your going to give me the bad.
Of course. Nobody wants to just hear one side. But, the boards are full of "the good." Someone has to deliver "the bad." There is no responsibility on anyone's part to provide both.

If you hate the way the WDW product is headed, then why are you here? And why still vacation there?
Let's use the sports team analogy. Say you are a big Red Sox fan. Loved them since you were a kid, through thick and thin. Now, as an adult, you follow them every year, root for them every game. You are a fan.
However, that does not prevent you from criticizing them when they don't perform well, or when management does something stupid.
WDW is still my favorite place in the world. Likely always will be. But when I see things going on there that I don't approve of, or that I think is harmful to it, I feel it's my duty as a fan/supporter/customer to speak out about it.

The same goes for '74. If you knew him, you would know the passion he has for the parks and the Disney company. Like anyone with that level of passion, you tend to both defend and criticize.

And Im sorry, but i don't find being condescending to anyone with something positive to say about WDW and posting in stupid cryptic messages intelligent.
Hard to communicate some things across the internet. Everyone has positive things to say about WDW. (Yes, even '74...) Nothing wrong with saying when something is working, or when something isn't. Praise, when warranted, is a fine thing. Blind praise, made purely from the heart and not the head, can be just as tedious and annoying as mindless complaints.

The problem is the poster.
Not entirely. Part of the problem lies with the posters who read negative things and are offended based purely on their love of the parks. Some people can't take criticism, even when not aimed at them. (Note to all...the parks are not family. Don't take criticism of them personally.)

There is no fun in just having honest conversation about the pros and cons of WDW.
Of course there is. That is the whole point of discussion boards, to voice an opinion or point of view, and to then discuss it. Impossible for everyone to agree, that's human nature. But to be bothered by an oposing viewpoint is just silly.

Lee seems to think he is "honest", but an honest person would be able to praise WDW where it succeeds, he does NONE of that.
Yep. I do, and I'm in a better position to be able to judge that. In the case of '74, I know who he is, what he does, and who he knows. (If the average fan knew half of '74's connections he would colapse into a puddle of melted Whip.) In my time as a Disney fan, I have met very few people who can come close to his level of passion for the company. Seriously.

And nowhere is it written that every poster must be (sorry to use this evil term...) fair and balanced. The pendulum swings both ways, with many posters determined to only see the good, which is just as infuriating as many seem to find '74's posts.

Maybe I'll be lucky enough one day to run into him at a WDW event and I can spit in his Dole Whip and kick him in his zebra domes.
Wow.
A better idea, if you run into him, is to ask him to take ten minutes and speak to you about the parks. About why he feels WDW is being mishandled. About how things are better in Anaheim or Tokyo. You might learn a thing or three.

Why can't we keep all the arguing out of these forums ?? We all are on here because we love wdw

As Mom said above, arguing only comes when people don't respect the opinions of one another. Differing opinions and debate are a great thing. Both sides of the spectrum need to understand that and just need to respect people's opinions for what they are. You don't have to agree, and you don't have to like what someone else says...you just have to respect their ability to express what they feel. The problems come when someone starts calling you a pixie duster or a doom and gloomer...or worse when you start telling someone on the other side that they are simply wrong with no basis of understanding for what they are saying. It's fine to disagree, but it's quite another to insult someone because they disagree.

There is a fine line between arguing, and having a lively discussion about difference of opinions. By trying to minimize the dismissive, insulting terms that cause tempers to flare, we can hope to tolerate and respectfully discuss opinions from both sides, even if we neither like nor agree with them.
