I know it was the basis for Jaws, I had said that. Not sure what Mass. Islands even is or what you mean by that.

The book Jaws if I remember might even mention the 1916 attacks in NJ but I read it a long time ago so I can't be sure. I do remember though that in the book Jaws it was almost a tourist attraction for people to come see if they could spot the shark. There was someone on the beach in the book who said they were going to go to Jungle Habitat in NJ but decided to go to see the shark on L.I. instead. Jungle Habitat was in the town I grew up in (West Milford) and was run by Warner Bros. For me, it was neat to see that mentioned....

Yes, I was confirming your statement, contrary to Shark River.

The book Jaws and the movie were located on (I think) Martha's Vinyard in Mass. (but based on the NJ attacks).

Yes, I believe that is correct on the location though I think they mentioned a string of attacks in the early part of the century. Not saying they were part of the ones in the story, just ones that they talked about happening in the past. I could be totally wrong though as it has been a while.

The book Jaws is very good and a total different type of story than the movie. For anyone who has seen the movie but not the book, I recommend it. Quite a bit of the story is from the shark's perspective which is kind of neat...

I Am not sure about Applebee's in Linden, but I can tell you the one in Staten Island was pretty awful!!! Id rather not go there again if I can help it!!! Friday's Id be OK with. I am pretty familiar with the Central Jersey area so I could probably find any place that works for everyone. I liked the idea of this type of place as most of them have individual tables for people who want to sit and have dinner or chat more intimately and a bar area for those wishing to do a bigger group thing!!! THAT is what I think most appeals to me. Any of the true Jersians want to be in charge of doing any of the meets??? Belle

By the way guys, you are not limited to one meet or the other!!! if you want to drive to North Jersey, great come and join us!!! Feel like cruising to Central Jersey, come on down!!! Heading southward to the Jersey Shore, stop by and say hi!!! You are not limited to a meet based on where you are, I was just simply trying to make it as easy as I could for everyone!!! Belle

 I have no problem with that, heck, I fly 1500 miles to get to WDW so driving for an hour or more doesn't bother me, just so long as I share our times there with others who do want to hear it as much as I want to hear theirs. also we can share money saving tips.:D

U Yee (i think i spelt the name wrong) sushi is good, over behind tgi fridays in woodbridge.

It's not just sushi, it's hibatchi, like in Japan in WDW. I think it's 8 people at a table.

Please excuse my spelling.

That's near the Kmart on st. georges ave, right?
I live by 4 and 5 school and the avenel train station.
And the church, that I can't remember the name of the saint right now.
St. Andrews, I think.
