Nibblesandbits Amazingly Wonderful Trip Report Number 5 (Sept. 21-25)

Well, I'm officially back from a wonderful time at the World. And I know what you all are thinking...Trip Report! Trip Report! Which of course, I shall do. :)

Pre-show:

This trip was actually a "last minute trip" for us. Not a lot of time for lenghthy planning for me. My husband (commonly known around here at What's His Face or WHF, for short) and I were originally planning a trip to California this year. We were supposed to see Disneyland and visit some of what California had to offer. Unfortunately, WHF got a new job this year and didn't want to take all that time off.

Also, coinciding with that, WHF got me an AP for my birthday this year...my very first AP! I was so excited. Now, needless to say, when you've got an AP, it burns a hole in your pocket. So, since we weren't going to California, we should go back down to Florida. And, WHF wouldn't have to take as many days off work if we went to Florida, so less than 2 months beforehand, we set the date.

And, set the date we did. My trip was scheduled for the dates of Sept. 21-25 for a few reasons. Number 1. my friend Bunny would be down there for part of the same time I would be and I really wanted to see her and her family. Number 2. I really wanted to visit the Adventurer's Club for one last time. Number 3. I wanted to go this year in Sept. so I could get another use next Sept. out of my APs.

Finally, after a very short wait, it was time to go!!!

Wow, Nibbsie, awesome report! Loving the pics, and as always, you make me laugh.

I can relate to being stuck behind the tall ones...curse them. :lookaroun

More! More! More!

So, it's now time to meet up with Vince.

We got tired of waiting in Morocco, so we went towards France and luckily, ran right into him!

Since it was still raining, Vince knew that there would be characters inside the shops in France. So, we went inside and got pictures with both Belle and Aruora.

The it was off to the UK where we had just missed Alice, but we got to meet up with Tigger, Piglet, and Eeyore.

After that, we headed out of Epcot and went to the yummy and delicious Beaches & Cream!!! I had a burger & fries and for the first time, I tried the No Way Jose. OMG!!!!! This was the most amazing ice cream sundae I've ever had!!! I already love peanut butter on my ice cream...this was just outstanding!!! So will get this lots and lots of times!

From there, we went back through Epcot to head to Vince's car, as he was taking us to DHS for EEMH.

First, we tried to get in line for TSMM, unfortunately though it was broken down. So, instead, we hopped on over to Star Tours. Then FastPassed RNRC and headed over to GMR while we were waiting for our FP times to come up. After living through the movies, we rode RNRC and I have to tell you, I was nervous, as the last time I rode was 2 years ago.

After that, we left the parks to go to the Adventurer's Club.

Marching Along We're Adventurer's!!!

So, off we went to the Adv. Club and I can tell you...this night was honestly one of the best night's I'd ever been there. It was starting the last week the club was open and the camradarie in there was amazing. You could really feel the love (and, well, of course, your neighbor, b/c we were crammed in there!) Seriously though, this was the best night ever.

So, first of all, it was Maid Gabby's last night and she had a truly special Sing-a-long. We all walked in to find Hershey Kisses on our seats. Then she handed out homemade cookies, which was just so sweet!

Probably the funniest part though was when she did one of her songs and as a tribute to her (since Disney wouldn't give her a dove release...) she made 130 paper oragami birds to hand out and have people make them "fly". OMG! I tell you...it really was an amazing show!!!

Here I am with Pamilia Perkins:

And the debonair Hathaway Browne:

Emil got the Balderdash Cup!!!

So, after all the fun with Gabby...I knew I wanted to make it into to final Hoopla! (Hoopla!) I just made it in. Like, barely. Vince and I managed to score seats right next to the door and the bar. But it was cool, b/c it was Gabby's last Hoopla, so we got to see her reaction to the whole thing. And needless to say, she was definitely upset.

Now this hoopla was also one of the guy who plays Emil's last one too. And he sang one of my favorite songs...the Mailman Song!!!

It was so hard to watch this night though...since we knew that some people simply weren't coming back. I swear, I don't think there was a dry eye in the house. It was just touching.

After witnessing such a special night, Vince then drove us home and we went to bed for our next Adventure.

AK and MNSSHP

So, today, I got up and got dressed and went by myself to AK. WHF didn't want to go with me b/c he doesn't really care for AK and I really didn't want to skip AK b/c I wanted to ride Everest again. So, we compromised that I'd go and he'd stay and relax by the pool...which is what he really wanted to do that day anyway.

So, I went, by myself, for the first time to a park ever. It was interesting and liberating. It was nice to have the freedom to do whatever I wanted, when I wanted. If I wanted to stop and do something, I could without being hindered. Of course, I would always prefer to go with WHF, but if I had to ever go alone...I wouldn't mind.

And off I went to Everest, which, thanks to the Single Rider line, I rode twice in the amout of time it would have taken me to ride once.

Everest looms in the background:

After that, I took the backway from Asia to Africa to ride Kilamanjaro Safaris.

102_2120.jpg

While going along the path less traveled...I managed to find someone I'd always heard about...Devine. She really is remarkable. You don't want to stop watching her, she's that beautiful and graceful.

I have now arrived in Harambe:

102_2135.jpg

I went straight to KS...and there was no wait. Cool!!! I actually got right on a safari vehicle, front row, and there was no one I had to share a seat with.

My pics from this though weren't as good as I'd hoped. This time I caught a lot of movement...but I thought this one was fun...this little guy got up on the log...now how to get down:

102_2160.jpg

After that, I took the Pangani Trek. I thought it was interesting, but I'm not sure if I'd do it again. We have a zoo here that is pretty fabulous (one of the best in the nation) and this trek felt exactly like my zoo. So, I'm thinking, I'd rather go to my zoo and see that than AK.

I did enjoy watching this little guy though...he was hungry!

102_2164.jpg

After that, I thought I'd get some lunch...but first, it was on to E:E again. Which I rode twice, once again. Then I stopped for lunch at Flame Tree. This was my first experience eating at all at DAK and I really liked Flame Tree. I'd definitely stop there again for food. There was good flavor to the chicken.

Then I went to see Finding Nemo. This will tell you how nonexistant the crowds were...I walked in with about 5 minutes remaining til showtime...went all the way over to the far side and sat only a few rows up from the stage. Matter of fact, I could have sat front row if I'd wanted to. I'm telling you...no one was in the parks!

From there, I left, as it was time to meet up with my hubby and to head to MNSSHP.

It wasn't so bad going by myself. It was actually really fun...try it sometime. And yes...chicken...:lookaroun

Naughty Vince! :lookaroun

Great report and photos! Thanks!

:lookaroun

So, I didn't realize how that sounded until just now. :ROFLOL:

*waits impatiently for the best part*

I was getting to it!

Beautiful pictures!

You shush!!!

And thanks dear!

Great report! :sohappy:

What's the German pickle thing?

Well, it's something that I found out was false, as I asked WHF's grandpa, who's just about as German as you can get.

So, in the Germany pavillion, they have these pickle ornaments that they sell...and they say that Germans hide one in the Christmas tree and whomever can find it first gets an extra present.

Unfortunately, it's not true, but it's a nice story and idea.

Wow, Nibbsie, awesome report! Loving the pics, and as always, you make me laugh.

I can relate to being stuck behind the tall ones...curse them. :lookaroun

More! More! More!

Exactly...curse the tall ones! Us short people should be given some leeway!!!

And thank you as well...although you make me laugh pretty hard yourself.

Doing the parks solo....you captured it, liberating
needless to say, you will be considering doing this more in the future. It just adds a whole different perspective.

I always enjoy Flame Tree as well, and can still use DDE there!

It is now time to head to MNSSHP.

I picked up WHF and we got on the bus towards MK.

We hit up Fantasyland first...and guess what?! No wait times!!! Peter Pan was even a 5 minute wait!!! Whoo!!!

So first we did Small World, then Peter Pan. Than WHF was starving, so we went to Mrs. Potts for ice cream. Now, last time I had this, it was really good. This time, my brownie for the sundae was hard. Bummer.

And now, the party had officially started:

Then we did Snow, Philharmagic and Pooh. It was off to Toontown for the Barnstormer!

I know what you all are thinking...she did the Barnstormer...without having kids? But, WHF wanted to try it and I was trying to be more open to rides he wanted to do for once, so, off we went. We rode front row twice. It was fun, but short.

After my daring feat, we went through the Alice In Wonderland Candy trail, where we waited in long lines. From there, we did Space and Buzz...walk ons for both.

We decided we were hungry, so we went to get some food. Hot Dogs from Cosmic Rays.

From there, we went to my "secret spot" to watch fireworks. it's a little off center, but it was a good view nonetheless. Plus we get to sit down there. So, win-win. Here are some of my better pics from Hallowishes. (Which, I thought was spectacular again this year.)

After the fireworks, we went to Liberty Square to get a seat for the parade. The Boo To You Parade is simply one of my favorites anywhere!!! I love the music and how infectious it is.

We got a spot right in front of the HOP. It was great. I also got to see the Headless Horseman this time, since last year it poured on us and while we got to see everything, I didn't get to see this detail.

The parade was fantastic though. Simply wonderful! I suggest going simply for the parade!
