Rice is a huge, muscular NFL player who's one of the fittest people you'll ever meet. Hitting a smaller women, and then not even CARING or trying to help makes matters worse. I see what you're saying but disagree

The funny this is - Rice is pretty small for an athlete - he's only 5' 8" - but he is over 200 pounds of muscle. He made a living running through opposing players and is pretty much superhuman strong.

I was disturbed by his physical abuse but even more disturbed by his complete lack of concern for her afterwards. Disgusting.

there are a lot of problems with this all around.

The NFL suspends him for 2 games for the incident..

Then sets new rules saying 6 games for first time offense..

Then suspends Rice indefinitely for what is still.. his first time offense.

Queue up the lawyers....

What would you be saying if a huge muscular NFL player was hitting a smaller man?

WRONG!!!! A man the size of a football player punching a woman is as offensive as one person hitting another? I.don't. think.so!!!!!!!!!!!!

First of all my post was not just about Ray Rice. In fact I did not even see the video that was released today. My post was more about how I don't like to see anyone hitting anyone no matter if the person hitting the other person is a man or a woman or an NFL player or not and the person being hit is a man or a woman or an NFL player or not. Like I said I hate to see anyone hitting anyone except in self-defense.

It depends on the situation, but a grown man, in a position where he is an implied role model for young men, punching a woman, especially a woman who he supposedly "loves" is wrong on so many levels.
And you should watch the video before you defend such actions.

What are you talking about when you say I should watch the video before I defend such actions? I did not defend anyone's actions. I was saying that I hate to see anyone hitting anyone except in self-defense. I was also saying that when it comes to someone hitting someone it should be more about the fact that it's a person hitting another person and not a man hitting a woman or a woman hitting a man and so on.

If you watch the video you'll see that this is not just "hitting" another person.

One of the ESPNradio commentators said he figured that had something to do Rice saying whatever happened before the original video started was not that bad, then this video revealed that was obviously not the case.

I, however, do not believe the NFL had not seen (or at least had knowledge of) what actually happened.

The reason why I posted what I posted was because you said something about me defending someone's actions. I'm going to guess you were saying that I was defending the actions of Ray Rice. I made that post to say that I was not defending the actions of Ray Rice or anyone. I don't defend the actions of Ray Rice and I don't condemn the actions of Ray Rice, because I don't have enough information to condemn his actions or defend his actions.

Adam Schefter and Peter king basically said the NFL is lying to all of us and saw the video but Godell still decided to only give a two game suspension

I find it virtually impossible to believe they did not either (1) see the video, (2) know what the video contained though did not see it or (3) chose not to view or hear what was in the video but was aware it existed -- and therefore handed down the 2 games without a thorough investigation.

This just continues to show the absurdity that is the NFL.

Josh Gordon gone for the year, Ray Rice suspended indefinitely.

Whats next, 1 game suspension for jaywalking?

If TMZ could grease enough palms to get their hands on it, I don't see how the NFL could not get their hands on it as well.

The Gordon suspension is rather ridiculous compared to the original punishment Rice received. They are considering revising the drug policy in a way that would get him some playing time this season.

The updated Rice suspension should have been what he was given from the start if the NFL actually saw the video footage.

Bad start for NYG. Thought the secondary would be a strength but it wasn't. Cromartie had a poor game, so did Brown. No pass rush. Stopped the run but that's about it. Offense is sill a work in progress, and Mannings poor decision cost him with an interception. All around bad performance
