I'm an odd ball. A Pats fan who likes Peyton. He's friends with Brady, seems like a good guy, and he's my fantasy starter. But you gotta respect the guy. He's probably the smartest QB to ever play the game.

And no, Houston is not the best team in this conference. If they can pull a win off against the Pats in a few weeks, then I'll be eating crow. Regardless, Houston is a tough place to play and home field in the Playoffs may take them all the way.

Jim Harbaugh won't say whether Alex Smith or Colin Kaepernick will start at quarterback this week. On the other hand 49ers' safety, Donte Whitner, and other sources say that Kaepernick will start. I think Harbaugh's secret it out.

I have no problem with the New England Patriots wanting to score more points when they are up 27 to 3 or 35 to 7. The players on the New England Patriots offense gets paid a lot of money to score points. The players on an NFL defense gets paid a lot of money to stop an NFL offense from getting points. Also people could look at it this way. The New England Patriots want to make sure they win the game because this is the NFL and all the NFL teams are good. So New England knows this so they are going to do everything they can to not give the NFL team that they are playing against any chance of coming back. So if you look at it this way you might can say that the Patriots respect the NFL team that they are playing against because they know that all the NFL teams are very good and they don't want to give that team any chance of coming back.

Right on! Dallas actually came back to within 1 touchdown of Washington.....never let up too early!! Maybe inside 4 mins up by 3-4 scores...

Yeah, that whole running up the score nonsense is just what sore losers say. They're doing their job. And besides, if the Pats really wanted to run the score up, they wouldn't pull Brady out and run the ball the entire last 5 minutes of the game. You're also talking about a team that came within seconds of winning 2 of the last 5 Super Bowls and didn't.

In the next 5 days Atlanta should be exposed for what they are; either a legit contender or a good team with a great record. If we can win in Tampa and beat the Saints in the Dome, we should be set for a first round bye.

Wins today by NYG over Green Bay, N.O over SF, and Minn over Chic would help as well.

The only thing I would to teams going full throttle when way up is that it can backfire in so many ways. I understand not taking the foot off the pedal when it is still in the 3rd Qtr but when you are up 31(about to go up 38) with under 6 minutes to go it is time to pull your starters. Look at New England and what they had done to my Colts. They had taken a close game and obliterated the Colts in the 2nd half. Belicheck keeps his starters in and next thing you know Gronkowski is out up to 6 weeks. Now to be fair I would say when games are meaningless at the end of the season you do not pull your starters. The COlts lost to the Steelers in 2006 when they were the best team all season. The Colts were a team that needed rythym and instead after losing to San Diego in week 12 or 13 rested most of their starters the next 3 games, well when the Steeler game came along in week 2 of the playoffs the Colts came out flat for nearly 3 qtrs and truly never should have had that FG attempt to win it.

My heart can't take it!!! We're 10-1!!

Samuel might be out....tough dude played hurt the entire game and is down in the endzone to end the game....

**edit**

With Seattle and Tampa losing today, it guarantees one of the NFC Wildcards will have at least 5 losses.

Tampa, New Orleans, Minnesota, and Seattle all have 5 losses,

Dallas, Washington, and Arizona all are only 1 game back (with 6 losses).

Things I've learned so far this week:

- The Lions are a tough team to beat despite their record
- The Cowboys are once again out of the playoff race
- The Redskins will be considered in the playoff race, but are a long shot
- The Patriots are good
- The Jets are bad
- Minnesota's playoff chances are slipping through their fingers
- Cincinnati has a shot at the post season
- The Steelers are missing Big Ben badly
- Buffalo is a tough team but can never pull off the win
- The Jaguars are better with Chad Henne
- The Broncos aren't as good as we thought
- The Chiefs are still the worst team in the league
- Seattle and Tampa Bay are both lucky the other team lost
- Atlanta is good, but I still can't call them great

Steelers sure miss Roethlisberger. Ravens can kill Steelers division hopes with win today and win next week against them.

Can you believe New Orleans would be the 6th NFC Seed if they beat San Fran (if season ended today)? Better conference record than Sea and Minn (played neither head to head) and beat Tampa head to head.
And Dallas is right back in this!! They still play New Orleans Dec 23rd.

It was like opposite day for Dallas Thursday. They started off horrible and then tried to comeback at the end. They usually start of great then blow it at the end :P

We live just outside the Charlotte, NC area, so likewise are Carolina Pathers fans. I know, I know, we're done. But that's okay...Cam Newton is only suffering sophmore blues, and will come back full force next season! The potential is there.
While we rank as lowest fan base in the game of football (I remember going to games during the Jake era...when we were GOOD...and couldn't fill the stadium close to 75%), I think most of that has to do with our area being more passionate about Nascar rather than NFL. Nascar merch zooms off store shelves faster than you can blink, while Panther gear sits collecting dust...welcome to Charlotte lol. I think most of us around here get more excited to watch our hated rivals (the Chokelanta Foulcons) screw up royally in the playoffs again & again than we do our very own team. Lol But either way I'm Carolina blue through & through, and our year is coming...soon!

Still pulling for the Panthers through thick & thin. Since they are out for certain this yr, I guess I will also root for the Broncos (Peyton!) and certainly for the Foulcons to make the playoffs...because history shows us what's coming next when the Birdz get to the big dance(choke)...and our popcorn is ready!

Well the injuries are finally starting to show for the Packers. Hopefully next week Greg Jennings and Clay Matthews can at least be back, which would help a lot.

I can say though that last year in the playoffs I felt that we beat ourselves, but last night I feel that we just didn't show up. Aside from our injuries, we were outcoached and outplayed.

I think the NFC North will all come down to the December 16th game between Green Bay and Chicago. Both teams should be able to win the remainder of their games. I know Packers and Bears fans have that game circled on their calendars.

I like Peyton and his comeback has been amazing, but he doesn't deserve to be MVP this year. They were both pretty even until the past 3 weeks, but Brady has completely dominated the last 3 games.

And, we are 10-1, with the 1 loss coming against New Orleans, with Roddy dropping a tough catch in the endzone late....Hate to admit I am not that confident when it comes playoff time. Hopefully we will beat New Orleans this Thursday and knock them out of the playoff picture. I don't want to see them in the post-season! Not real keen on our chances with GB or NYG either....

Thanks neighbor to the North (I do a lot of business in Charlotte)! Another issue with attendence is the PSL. I thought Carolina would be a contender this year, and you have been competetive, just can't seen to get many in the win column....which will lead to a nice draft pick reward. Looked decent last night against Philly!!
