Yep. Good ride, wrong park.
Hmmm... sounds familiar.

Anaheim and Paris still has the room. It’s no coincidence the quinjets are where they are.
Its up to Bob. Don’t laugh.
They kind of announced it… then backtracked. They'll likely announce this at D23 then put it onholdpause due to "economic circumstances have forced us to reevaluate all projects at this time".
yeah didn't chapek directly say in March that Poppins and Quinjet were on hold until cash was better? They kind of announced it… then backtracked.
Avengers E.
Pass. Maybe they were too bullish and that’s a reason it didn’t happen. Hence the “no more Epcot Marvel” mantra from above. How would that have worked with the Uni contract? Pretty much by definition, anyone who is an "Avenger" can't be used in WDW; would it just have been a ride and mission without those characters?
Does this mean we're now safe from more EPCOT Marvel as a whole, god willing?Hence the “no more Epcot Marvel” mantra from above.

The Black Knight will be in the UK pavilion and Blade will be in the new Romania pavilion.Does this mean we're now safe from more EPCOT Marvel as a whole, god willing?
It honestly wouldn't be worth it for them. As a competitor, they know how vital Marvel would be to Disney's success. Selling it to Disney would be Universal shooting itself the foot, essentially providing easy success for their competition. At the moment, they're holding a large part of their biggest competition's potential success at bay.I wonder how long until disney negotiates avengers characters rights back to Disney. Everything has a price, and I could see universal getting a pretty penny for those marvel rights
Imagineers have put the finishing touches on a resurrected concept! They're done 'rethinking/reworking some the physical elements of the experience. Some photo realistic concepts have been leaked!Since things will never be 100% like they once were, it seems like this would be a great time to rethink this space if they were planning for a ton of physically interactive elements.
They may think pushing it back a couple of years fixes everything but there are already parents that don't want their kids touching stuff "everyone has had their hands on" and I think post COVID the number of those has jumped by quite a lot.
I'm guessing we're saddled with this as a concept no matter what at this point but maybe they're rethinking/reworking some the physical elements of the experience?
They never went into really high detail on any of it so that seems like a possibility.
Martin?
To add to this, unless they were going to build a while 5th gate around Marvel, I'm not sure the ROI would be worth the cost it would take to buy the rights from Uni. I mean, even if the cost to buy the rights alone was reasonable, Uni would still want some sort of compensation in the deal to use to retheme the current Super Hero island and that alone could be justified at a few hundred million. So for Disney to spend hundreds of millions for Uni to retheme and hundreds if millions more for whatever they would ultimately build, the juice has got to be worth the squeeze. I do wonder if Uni would be more open to a deal which would allow WDW to not have the entire catalog, but utilize characters that Uni is not already utilizing (in a significant manner) like AntMan, Black Panther, and Captain Marvel (none of the "Main line" Avengers) possibly in exchange for the rights to some of the scarier Fox owned properties that Disney (likely) has no intention of using (like Alien, Predators, or 28 Days Later). It honestly wouldn't be worth it for them. That's the ticket though. The contract also has the clause that states Disney can't use characters represented in Superhero Island... Universal added Black Panther to a mural relatively quickly and have added different merch to the shops with newer characters. They know what they're doing.but utilize characters that Uni is not already utilizing (in a significant manner) like AntMan, Black Panther, and Captain Marvel (none of the "Main line" Avengers)

Minion IslandUniversal is also paying a bargain basement price for the Marvel rights. If they re-themed they would likely have to pay a lot more for something that is no where near as popular as Marvel is right now.
