EPCOT New Play Pavilion to replace Epcot's Wonders of Life

Are they finally going to confirm that the project is officially dead and that it ain’t going to happen anymore, because Disney has been dead silent for six years by this point (at least Disney waited two and a half years for the permanent demise of Stitch’s Great Escape to be 100% confirmed even if everyone knew that) and everyone had predicted that this attraction won’t be happening anymore

There are plenty of cancelled projects over the years that they have not bothered to announce that they have been cancelled. They like to emphasize what is happening not what is not, famously.

I wish they did not talk about "what is happening" too early as they talked about the Play pavilion then cancelled it.

It feels like they talk about "what is happening" way too early a lot of the time, I especially do not like the blue sky renderings, mostly for publicity, then things get changed or cancelled.

Just don't tell me and make something great. ;) Like Universal ;);););)

I don't consider Universal "Great", but I certainly understand what you are saying.

I think today the Potter lands they built in Universal Orlando, IOA, Epic are great.

There were things from the early days Universal destroyed and replaced were great like Jaws, Earthquake, Kongfrontation

Today F&F and That Minions shooting game, very bad. :( Universal also "destroy and replace" stuff with worse stuff.

They were actually more straightforward than normal about the essential cancellation in this case because they formally put an indefinite pause on several things in the wake of the pandemic.

I know you like being a contrarian but really? None of these, often quoted as being the best theme park attractions ever made, you would consider "great"?

Universal has certainly got a lot very right, especially lately... Their immersive Potter lands and the new lands at Epic seem to be better rounded experiences than what Disney has built lately. Now lets see if Disney will continue their recent record of nice-but-not-stellar additions or if they will really do something compelling with the new lands and changes...

Did you mean lands and not rides?

The two potter rides you have pictured aren't great. JP in Florida has been a poorly maintained mess (though they are fixing if now). I haven't been to Beijing (which I am assuming is the other JP pictured) but if so that ride does look good. Finally you have a land pictured for HTTYD which is an amazing land, but it doesn't exactly host a bunch of amazing rides.

I hearby dub the Play Pavilion the Anti-Beastly Kingdom.

No one was looking forward to it. No one mourned it. No one will look back with disappointment it didn't happen. Already its planned existence has been scrubbed from public view.
Looking back I am kinda sad that it never came to be, mostly because it would have given Wonders a purpose again and was cheap enough to be removed for whenever they had the time and resources to do something better with the building.

I thought so at one time as well. Something changed my mind that I cannot really describe in detail here.
