New attraction for DHS being announced May 14?

This may be a stupid question, but which building is Stage 1? I thought the Great Movie Ride was in the building across from TSM, but I'm probably wrong.

About all the soundstages, are they eventually going to just going to remove those buildings? I would think they'd do that or at least make the buildings not look like soundstages since they were more-or-less abandoning the Studios aspects and trying to make actual lands. Not that I have any problem with DHS right now, but some of the changes I hear rumored about are very exciting!

Not sure about the numbers but I think the only unoccupied stage is 1 (near the backstage tour). They have done a great job of utilizing those buildings and very soon they will all have attractions in all of them from the sound of things.

What if like behind some big buliding theye've been building a huge attraction and they've been testing and there going to open it tomrmow, and its all complete and everything! How cool would that be?

And im in all seriousness here. Do you think they would ever do that?

They could... but they won't because they know it'll give all of us hardcore Disney fans heart attacks.

I don't think they'll say this tomorrow, but I hope it's a coaster about The Incredibles or Ratatouille. Don't Monsters Inc. and Finding Nemo have enough attractions.

I really hope your wrong and they keep the heavy movie set theme throughout the studios. I love the look and feel of it with all the themes. But as im learning quickley Disney has to change and has made great changes thus far, ill just miss it

Ill b all ears tomorrow and hope that we get some sort of magical news to satisfy us!

Why would there be an announcement before TSM opens? That would be like Disney telling people to hold off on their trip because something even better and newer is coming in another year.

Y'all, it has already been confirmed by the head honcho at Disney's Hollywood Studios that Studio 1 would be occupied by a family coaster. They did not share what its theme would be, but many numerous insiders have stated that it would be a copy of "crush's coaster" layout with a different theme. The rumors have been especially leaning towards a Monsters Inc. door scene coaster, which would indeed be awesome.

Kind of dark ride meets a toned down big thunder.

anyway, i am almost positive they will only announce the prince caspian thing tomorrow and announce it's opening. always plan on being disappointed, that way...if something awesome happens, you can be pleasantly surprised.

If they are announcing big things this year for Disney's Hollywood Studios, there are three possible dates.

1) Toy Story Mania's Grand Opening (with press attending)
2) Press Conference at Star Wars Weekends
3) In or around September, when they announce the next years theme for the parks. I am putting my money on this one. I believe they will start to discuss their plans for 2011 and Disney World's 40th anniversary. They will be refurbing one big thing at each of the 3 original parks (space mountain, imagination, star tours), and be adding some new stuff to Animal Kingdom (night parade, maybe a new land or a high profile d ticket).

i mean, honestly, i don't think we have to wait much longer for a big announcement. it has been a LONG time since we have had some major news and I mainly think its cuz Disney is planning on having a big 40th anniversary party. Even though I know very little actual information...I have a very good feeling about my predictions and would bet good money that most, if not all, will come true within the next couple months.

Where is sound stage 1? Is that at the end near Voyage of the Little Mermaid or at the opposite end?

Geez, Mad Stitch, you're slipping. I'd expect you to know that :ROFLOL:

Obviously, they're going to announce the new Harry Potter Ride with free churros while you stand in line.

I'd bet anything that it's the announcement of the 5th gate...(which, by the way, will have a monorail running to it :) )

There's no way that they could keep it from us! :)

Imagine, someone in the work crew would tell someone at the lunch area and then a castmember overhears and tells his website buddy about it and then... well, you understand.

It would be AWESOME, but in this day and age, it would be nearly impossible to pull off.

Especially with all the internet geeks searching the satellite images

...speaking of which, what is that large cleared area that can be viewed in Animal Kingdom on the north side of the park (east of Kilamanjaro Safari)? I was on Google Earth yesterday and noticed it.

It's an undeveloped part of Asia. It was cleared during the original Asia build.
