Hey KingStefan, don't know if you're interested or not, but there is a Volkswagon plant being built in Chattanooga, to start up sometime next year. They are beginning to take applications on line. I don't have a link, but you can probably google it.

Good Luck.

Good news!!! My husband's former employer called him back today with a definite call back date. He starts back there on Monday!!!!!!:sohappy::sohappy::sohappy:

Hey! Congrats! Sorry for the later reply, but first my wife then I were really sick the last two weeks. Each had something entirely different - go figure. Luckily the kids have been spared - more or less except for a sinus infection and a cough here and there.

That is really good news, kstella!

And thanks everyone for the well-wishes. Unfortunately for my particular niche there doesn't appear to be much out there at the moment, but I'm working on it. I'll keep you posted!

As I've said before here and in PMs, I can't thank you all enough for your support. It means a lot to me coming from people on this forum, and it's one of the things that keeps me going. So thanks again!

I'm still checking to see if there is any news......... hopefully something will come through at least for the holidays?
The place that I am working is always so shorthanded; I'm bringing my 14 yr old with me next Wednesday to help out.

Hey, I finally got work! I had some work in the interim, but something always happened. That's the way it is in this economy.

Great job for my career. It was a long time coming, but I think it's going to be well worth the wait! I start next week!

OK, the bad part is it is 3 1/2 hours from where I live, and my oldest DD is going to be a senior in HS (class of '12). She's been in this district since Kindergarten, and I'm not about to pull her out for senior year. So, I guess the family is going to have some separation for a while. But it will work out. Thanks for all the pixie dust these last few years - it finally worked!

Maybe there is a WDW trip coming up!

Great big (((((hugs))))) to you and yours. I know it's been rough for ya. Believe it or not, I never forgot and always thought of y'all. I'm glad things are on the up. The separation is tough. I know. My hubby just worked a job for 3 months 8 hours away from home. Our only saving grace was that we homeschool so the kids & I could be with him a good bit of the time. Good things come to those who wait and I'm so glad things are on the 'up' for y'all! I'll be looking forward to hearing all about that next WDW adventure! A graduation celebration, perhaps???? :D

WOW! This will sound strange, but I thought of you a couple of weeks ago and said a prayer for you. I'm so glad to hear that things are working out for the better. I realize that many will dust this off as a simple event in life's cycle, but I believe in answers, and many have been asking on your behalf. Congratulations!

Absolutely! I thought it was sorta odd how every now & then I'd wonder how did KingStefan make out. I was hoping good things every time the thought came to mind. Interesting and cool all at the same time.

!!

Hi, all. Sorry I haven't been around lately, but a ton of stuff has happened since my last post. I have been working. I work for a consulting firm, and the client engagement that I was hired for hasn't quite gotten into full swing yet. That would normally make me nervous (it still does, actually), but in my case, I'm glad, because my company lets me work at a location closer to my home, and sometimes out of my home, which makes the transition easier.

Also, my wife had to have some surgery (we found out after I was hired), and so it has helped being at home while she healed up (took almost 8 weeks for her to fully recover). The good news is that she's fully recovered from that surgery - the bad news is that the pathology showed some cancer cells, so we're not out of the woods yet. More surgery should do the trick, but it's hard juggling a new job, kids starting school, and wife's illness.

Well, God doesn't give us anything we can't handle.

We missed our bi-annual WDW trip - after so long out of work (wife also out of work until recently - 2 years out for her total), finances won't allow. With other complications, we probably wouldn't have gone anyway. But soon, we hope.

Keep the prayers and pixie dust coming, please - it's worked so far. Thank you all so much.

There have been a ton of other things going on in my personal life (not for these boards - sorry - shame, really, because it's good soap opera!), so if we got through these last two years, I'm convinced that there is nothing we can't handle by the grace of God.
