So,I got bored Friday and decided to do something I've never done before,go to Disney solo.Wow!! that was quite the experience,I honestly thought it would be boring, but it was anything but.I found myself making small convo with many people and making new friends along the way, something I never would do if I were to be accompanying family and/or friends.I spent time in MK and Epcot, crowds werent too bad it seemed to go in waves,at times I'd hit a rush but then within an hour or so it would slow down again, wait times never seem t exceed about 20 minutes except for the usuals that go beyond that timeframe.Since I live in the Tampa Bay area it really isnt a big deal for me to drive over,so I think I'll be doing this more often just as an occasional getaway for a day or 2.The only bad part to my experience...I had noone to tell me to stop drinking pineapple floats or Id make myself sick later :lookaroun:brick:

Sounds awesome. Sometimes a solo trip allows time to do things that would never happen with more than one person (make conversation with strangers / take time to notice the little things around the park).

I myself are doing Tokyo Disneyland in July solo.

I agree, doing the world solo is great. My dad got really sick one day of my last trip, and after taking care of him, I had an afternoon to do what I wanted with while he rested. I went to the MK alone, and had a great time. I'm not that outgoing, so I didn't really have the great conversations part, but I loved being able to go whereever I wanted, whenever I wanted. There's alot of freedom in going alone. I might be doing a completely solo trip sometime in the future. :>

Yes
If I lived closer it may be something Id consider doing. But being in Pittsburgh its not exactly convieniant to do alone.

Cool, it sounds like you had a nice time. I would go solo when I get older but I sadly don't live anywhere near WDW. Oh well. It's still nice to hear that someone enjoyed their trip.

Good stuff! Glad your first solo trip was fun!

I've never been to Disney alone, but I'm not opposed to it. I just live too far away to really do it. I bet talking to different guests & cast members is interesting!

I am so excited to get solo time on my next trip. I will be arriving on a Friday with DM and we will spend the day together. She has a conference Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday so I will be alone until 5ish each day. I am excited for a new way of looking at the parks. Not to mention, meeting people. I make friends everywhere, so I will be striking up conversation every which way. I had a trip planned after finals last year, but it didn't happen. I am very excited about this one though.

I've just about got myself talked into doing a solo trip in the fall - there are so many little things that I think you miss when you're with a group and on a schedule.

Not old, just vintage.
I truly believe that all hardcore Disney fans owe it to themselves to spend a few days solo in the parks. I have done it a couple of times now and it is the best. You get to do things at your pace and no one will complain about the stuff you do and don't want to do. Also, it is kind of like going to the parks for the first time too. You end up noticing all kinds of details that you never knew existed.

What fun! I have visited WDW many times with my family and had the chance to visit Disneyland last June, solo, and it was strange but very fun. It was interesting getting on rides by myself and standing in lines surrounded by lots of families. The best part was doing exactly what I wanted to do which meant going on all the rides that I like (and others may groan about :) ) or riding twice, etc. I made tons of notes on the differences between Disneyland and MK beginning with the startling differences in the size of the castles!

I went on a solo trip last April when I interviewed and auditioned there. My parents 'made me' stay at a Deluxe so I felt safe, I chose Saratoga because I had never stayed there before.

It was the greatest thing in the world! I posted on here before the trip asking about making reservations... I ended up not doing so, and was excited to see where I would be able to eat. My whole trip was completely go-with-the-flow. I was the ultimate 'people watcher', one of my favorite things to do in Disney!

One of my very best trips was solo. When I got discharged from the Air Force, I elected to fly back home via Tampa. I rented a car and drove to WDW for 3 days.

I spent 3 days in the world ALONE. It was awesome. I spent almost a half day just hanging around Main Street. It was nice to really slow down and look at everthing at a slower pace you may miss with a family.

One of the coolest parts was I was sitting on a bench and an older gentleman decied to let his wife and grandkids go shop while he sat down.

He noticed my Air Force teeshirt and started talking about he was a Bomber Pilot in WW2. I told him what I did in the Air Force so we were talking for close to an hour. His wife and grandkids came back so I started to walk away. As I shook his hand and went to walk he said something like" No Air Force guys eat dinner alone!!". He asked me to join his family for dinner at the Crystal Palace.
I did and was a memory I will never forget.

A solo trip sounds like an interesting thing to do, but I think that I'd hate it after day 1!
To me, part of the fun of Disney is sharing it with people you care about...If i was by myself, I'd look nuts because all I do is laugh and smile all day while I'm there!
