Ohana!!!!
Not once but three times.
The worst food, what ever it was on the skewers was dried up beyond recognition.
Good side dishes but the meat was awful.
All three times.....

In my 18 visits to WDW, I have never really had an aweful meal, at least not one that I can think of off the top of my head.

You are so lucky! Usually if we've had a bad meal it was a direct result of bad service. Well, with the exception of Yak & Yeti. The food was just blah and then we had to keep on revisiting it for the remainder of the day.... :hurl:

If you're referring to China and the food poisoning, you can get food poisoning anywhere, anytime.

I totally get that, but if me or a member of my traveling party gets food poisoning and spends the night in the Kissimmee hospital, you can be rest assured I wont eat there again and I wont have much good to say about it.

The most disappointing meal that we had recently was in Chefs de France. The French Onion soup, underneath the melted cheese, was loaded with soot from their oven. It was so and so gross. They did take it back, but only after the waitress, who was a little snotty, told me that all the soups had that soot in it, it was normal. I've had French onion soup hundreds of times, even in the real Paris itself, and never saw that before.

We've had positive experiences with San Angel Inn and CRT. Maybe it's because we went for lunch. The tortilla soup is great at SAI and the Major Domo's Pie in CRT was awesome. We love both places.

Heading for the great escape.
Cape May Cafe, it was worse than any mess hall Ive eaten in where at least people had manners, and you felt like you were dining at a trough.

Oh and the muscles and clams were rubbish, tated better off seaside food cats

easily, the rose and crown.

after working in the UK pavillion shops for a year i constantly heard great things about the food but never got round to going there untill i recently came back on vacation.

the service was fine, but the food was bland, i felt it was a very poor interpration of British food. It just completly lacked flavour.

But see the problem with this, is that the CM shouldn't have done that. The characters have a rotation they follow, and every once in a while, they'll skip a family- sometimes it's because the waiter is at the table ordering, they see that the kids have gone to the bathroom, there's another character already at the table, the kids are having a food fight, etc, and sometimes it's just plain an accident. If they intentionally skip though, then they will remember and go back to that table when they have a chance. not saying that your family did anything wrong- it was the CM who brought you guys over- just letting you know why that wasn't what happened at 1900....

Well, they did this for us as well last year and it was a lifesaver. I have an autistic son who can't stay, even at the character meals, for an excessive amount of time and we had met everyone but Pooh who we adore. When I explained this to the waiter and the CM, they were extremely helpful and we did get to meet Pooh which delighted my son. We didn't take up a lot of his time, a quick hug and hello and a picture and we were gone but the help we got sincerely made a difference.

Oh Meyla Weyla
So many different opinions! I'll add a few:

nine dragons in epcot wasn't very good when we went last year.

I've eaten at Nine Dragons three or four times and loved it every time. I wonder if we ordered different things  Come to think of it, I've shared what others in my party have ordered and loved that too, never a problem for me.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention San Angel. It is by far the worst Epcot restaurant. Cantina de san Angel is WAY better.

I ate at the Cantina one time and it made me horribly sick! That's the one and only time I have been made ill by Disney food, but it was bad, totally ruined my night and next day. I won't go back to that one.

Not the Whispering Canyon!!! I have read so many positive experiences for that restaurant, and I have ADRs for it in October. Do I need to re-think this restaurant for dinner? Hopefully, your experience is an exception and most people enjoy their meals there.

I love WC. I've had breakfast and dinner there and while it's not the best food on property, it was totally fine for me :)

Coral Reef.

I hated my last two dinners there.

I liked it in the 80s when I went with my parents but since then the food has tanked.

Agreed. We used to love the lobster bisque, but for some reason they changed it and it's now gross. The rest of the food, main courses, etc., were ok, but definitely not worth what you pay. This place was really loud too, very difficult to have a conversation.

I was disappointed with Liberty Tree Tavern. I heard good things about it and was looking forward to it and I found it to be bland and tasteless. The turkey was dry, the gravy was gross and the mac and cheese was tasteless. I was not impressed with what seemed to be warmed up Stoffer's food. Maybe it was it off night but I was disappointed.

Same here, kinda bummed about how bland it was, but I'm seeing a theme with character meals and blandness, so I wasn't surprised.

I have had some less than memorable experiences at Coral Reef and Boma's at the AKL (YUCK) .... These are highly NOT recommended.

Boma for me was really good, but I can see how the spices of some dishes may not suite everyone.

Cape May Cafe, it was worse than any mess hall Ive eaten in where at least people had manners, and you felt like you were dining at a trough.

 We love Cape May for dinner... so sad...

Ah, but the San Angel is NOT Tex-Mex, nor of course is it meant to be, nor of course should it be. I have never been to Sonora, but I'm told it is more like the food there. I find it similar to Baja California fare. But I'm sure it is "Americanized". The flavors are more complex and subtle than any other "Mexican" food I have ever had. I don't know if there is a region of Mexico that would match that description. It reminds me of some Colombian food I've had in NYC. We eat at San Angel everytime we go, and always love it. The service everytime we have gone has been excellent.

I'm sorry for all those who have gone and expected something else (like Tex-Mex, for example), or who have had bad service for some reason, but all my experiences were good.

well, I've had food that is supposed to be Sonoran, and it was considerably better than San Angel...

Seafood on a buffet is just not a good idea. I was not crazy about Cape May either. I will stick with the Yacht's man when I am over there.

:mad:The coral reef is very over priced and the food portions
are less than average. this place was a huge dissapointment

I'd have to agree with that, BUT I also have to admit that our family does not like seafood. We tried it out for the atmosphere( which was also not as great as we were hoping). SO, I try not to be too hard on Coral Reef because I know that we are not the "target" group for it. However, the food that we DID get there was rather disappointing.
Also, I know that they're serving a HUGE number of people at these places, but the kids pizza was pretty bad and not "customizable" (my kids don't like red sauce for some reason which I have not yet figured out). I think a Totino's pizza from WalMart would have been better (and bigger--and cheaper). I don't know... on the one hand, I understand that we're talking about a huge logistics operation getting all the food to the different dining places, etc., BUT--on the OTHER hand--you'd like to think that a 'fancy' and expensive place like Coral Reef would be able to make a pizza with no sauce. Of course, they can't because they just use the same frozen (or whatever) 'pizza' that every other place in WDW uses. Like I said, I can understand the situation, but it's still disappointing...
