I'm excited about the many ways that 21st century technology can be utilized to bring us a truly imaginative Journey into Imagination.

Doesn't 21st century technology kind of negate the intention of journey into imagination?

If the attraction is supposed to encourage the use of imagination, why are special effects required? Why not..... imagine.

If everyone imagined it was a good attraction, it would be.

Great idea! Expand our minds! Maybe they should just hand out drugs at the door and everyone could have their own personal experience!

He could mean it as "Yes we do have plans...to leave it alone." We really don't know.

Not necessarily. He did mention that he isn't allowed to say anything more, meaning something is set. (also, that there is no known timeframe in place yet)

So far I think we can all assume that an Imagination pavilion overhaul WILL happen, just not when many probably think it will. (unless EO manages to really turns heads on the pavilion)

 Good point.

I think the purpose of technology in Imagination is for the creators (or in this case, Imagineers) to get as imaginative as they can. Technology really can help that, especially when you think of the advances made over the course of the years.

The truthfully sad thing about the pavilion as a whole is that there is so much oppurtunity to get creative and create an amazing, state of the art attraction that will capture park going audience's imaginations and have them bewildered at the experience.

When you think about it, we have become so used to technology that even some of the most creative things fail to impress us as opposed to, say, the park going audiences of 30 years ago. Imagination has a chance to change that.

I hate to break up the negativity but if it is coming from someone within WDI I would take it as genuine. Also Captain EO gives them a perfect excuse to take down Journey for refurb. The problem is whether TDO will let them and I don't know why but I get a somewhat optimistic feeling which is especially rare nowadays for me.
Imagineers who talk to the press know they are talking to the press and that the company has certain expectations regarding their words and behavior. As was stated, Disney's line is often that they always have plans.

One person's negativity is another's realism. There has been wave after wave of disappointment at Epcot since all the excitement 10 years ago with the new Illuminations and the parade. Since then, many "upgrades" are just meh, and folks here are so wanting for something good that we get pumped-up about triangles and new signs.

To me, California is in high-gear, and Orlando is just living on it's laurels. Reminds me of the days when Holiday Inns became dumps and people would stay there based on the strength of the brand. The "D ticket" has become the "new E". I long for the excitement that WDW once created.

But maybe I'm alone in that feeling...

To tell you the truth, neither California or WDW's upcoming expanisons are on par with the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Neither park has tried to top Spiderman and thes upcoming expansions further prove my point that it will be that way in the near future. The Forbiden Journey uses state of the art technology creating an immersive experience unlike any other theme park in the world. That was Disney 15 years ago, this is Universal now. The Radiator Springs attraction is using the same technology has Test Track created 13 years ago. I am hoping that this state of the art Imagination refurb happens because it will restore the pavillion to its former glory and give the Wizarding World some competition aside from Star Tours 2.0 and the upcoming FL expansion.

TDA has to get DCA to a decent performing park with crowd pleasers like Cars and Mermaid before attempting something so big and costly (on one thing). I think phase 2 would be where we'd see a game changer like Potter, but they've already invested 1 bil into the park!

Maybe Disneyland's rumored new E-ticket will be the next Potter?

I still don't think TDO can compete with Potter unless they use a brand they can market well. Sure, you can argue 'if it's good they will come' but TDO needs something to get everyone talking- not just WDW crazyfans like us.

Problem with DL is, they really dont have any further room for expansion so youll probably see a favorite classic attraction get replaced. DCA has gotten a billion dollar expansion so i dont see any further projects planned for the park anytime soon.

EO dosn`t really matter either way for the ride next door. What did matter is the increase in popularity of both The Seas pavilion and Mexico after the Nemo ride and Gran Fiesta Tour.

Dark rides are in fashion again basically.

Yea but the seas redo and ESPECIALLY the gran fiesta tour sucked. Both rides got a popularity boost because they slapped a "NEW" sticker on the park maps so people were curious and the diehards from the internet showed up to check it out. The seas continues to be popular because Nemo is a popular charecter with the children. For Imagination they need to redo it properly bring back the classic Dreamfinder and Figment and make it a big dark ride extravaganza no 3D glasses, no gimmicks.

You forgot to add, In my opinion. I love the new gran fiesta tour. Before it was a outdated mess, that was my 5 minute nap. Now it's much more enjoyable.

Also the Nemo dark ride is one of my favorites at Epcot. So speak for yourself:zipit:

and i'm sure there were fans of the tacky wand and HISTA. Heck even Stitch probably has a handful of "fans" (aka contrarians). I speak for the majority of guests.

Not really.

And sadly the old ride isn't coming back. That doesn't mean they won't make something great, though.

No you don`t. You speak your opinion. Guest exit polls say otherwise.

(For the record I prefer TLS and El Rio Del Tiempo)

At DL? There's room for expansion in Frontierland where the current Festival Arena area is located. Also, it's rumored that Innoventions may be on its way out with the space being looked at for a new attraction.. not too many people think of Innoventions as a classic attraction :lookaroun

Not really true they have enough land to build a 3rd park and if they get rid of some parking a additional water park as well.
