Monorail beam cleaning in Epcot - looks fantastic

Wow, the difference is astonishing! It's great to see WDW actually taking care of the tiny details. There's refurbs everywhere. Not all are big major refurbs but even some TLC is always nice in my book.

Has there been no new areas cleaned since this one section?

In the YouTube video linked to above, it looks like a total of three sections have been done. The first section near Test Track that apparently was done months ago, and two sections toward UoE (you can just see the start of the second clean section from that video angle)

Some people thought the sections that were done were because of the press event in the WOL pavilion a couple weeks ago or whenever it was... Press would have to walk part that part.

The tarped-off areas under the monorail track near Mission: Space were still there a few days ago, so they're probably not done. It's been very cold (for Florida, at least) the past week or so--in the 30s at night. That might have had some impact on the cleaning process.

I would tend to agree with the previous poster. With temps getting near freezing anyone from the North knows what happens to cement when water freezes inside it. At least I am hoping that is the reason for the delays.

The entire Future World East beam area is complete from UOE to the Odyssey bridge connecting to Test Track. As far as I know nothing else has been completed yet mainly due to the cold weather but also because they are heavily loading in for F&G right now on 3rd shift.

It all sounds great, and I hope the work continues. It does though sound like the F&G is taking up a good deal of time right now.....

Looks great, but.....it never should have been allowed to get into such ugly shape in the first place.
Cleaning like this should be part of a normal maintenance routine, and done on a schedule every couple of years.

Not so much "way to go" as "it's about time."

Perhaps these type "oversights" at least partly led to last years management realignments and those errors won't be repeated in the future.

So to the new managers I still say. "way to go".

Do you ever stop being a pessimist? Nothing TDO does satisfies you. Their rehabbing all of the Magic Kingdom, creating a huge expansion and cleaning up the overall resort in many areas. Nothing is perfect, including Disney. Mistakes were made in the past with Eisner, he was ousted and a replacement was put in place. WDW is now moving forward and trying to fix problems of the past. Why do you feel it necessary to always put a negative spin on everything?
