Think for yourselfer
Maybe I wasn't totally clear. I am very happy they are cleaning the beams. That happiness does not preclude me from being upset that they were allowed to fall into such disrepair in the first place though. In fact I am very happy about all of these refurbs going on in the parks, I am just hoping it is a sign of things to come, and not a one time deal.

Seriously, jt, who isn't happy about this? Can you point me in the direction of those posts? I think everyone here is pleased that this issue is being addressed.

Proof. It always helps.

Yes, everyone is happy its getting done. The point here is that there are a handful of people who continue to be pessimists no matter what is done in the parks. They whine and complain and then when action is taken, its not "hey good job", its "shoulda been done a long time ago and the parks shouldn't have been allowed to get in this condition in the first place". We all get it! The parks shouldn't have been neglected, but they were and now we're in the process of getting them back to the Disney standard. I for one, appreciate the efforts being made all around the property and don't see why some feel it neccesary to continue hanging on the past.

I think that says as much about your attitudes to opinions alternative to yours as it does their's to a multinational corporation doing tasks that most would describe as buisness as usuall.

I missed the whole Sheriff thing, who/what is JT referring to as the sheriff!!! Ive seen him refer to it a bucket load of times, does it mean anything to anyone else apart from JT?!?!?!

Changes to upper management, but given JT is neither an insider nor a visitor to the parks its unclear to who he is referring. But that again is the point, its vague enough to imply knowledge, or Jts fondness for sheriffs badges.

I was refering to the generally pessimistic tone that continues no matter how many projects and refurbs prove the pessimism is not justified. It's obvious everything has changed and they are systematically going about fixing the parks etc.

But we live in the age of entilement, fast food, I want it now, nothing is good enough, glass half empty, blah blah blah. :snore:
What pessimistic tone are you referring to? Again, I ask you, proof? Where do you see this?

And the only systematic improvements I see are happening in MK and in EC, even though Innoventions is in a quasi-unfinished-transition state.

DHS and DAK have nothing.

 What can I tell you then? We have a right to our opinion, seeing it's a justifiable one. Sorry if it offends you. I, for one, find it perfectly acceptable that you can both approve of a action by TDO but be critical on it. That's the route I take.

But this works both ways. If you have an employee who you tell to work harder and start improving and they do, but you don't give them any positive reinforcement, they'll eventually just go back to their old ways. People want to complain to get changes, but then its up to those same people to recognize the changes and give praise where its due. Otherwise your complaints just fall on deaf ears because your looked at as someone who is unsatisfiable.

i get what your saying.. but, you really have no idea who reads these boards. here is a hint... TDO!

Right, but If Im TDO, I would look at these boards and say, "they have been complaining about the upkeep of the parks, so we are fixing the issue and they are still slapping us in the face by telling us it should have never been like this in the first place". The complainers are only hurting themselves. You become the boy who cried wolf. You want TDO to respect your critiques of the parks, then respect their efforts to fix them. Cause eventually TDO will look at you and assume you are unpleasable and not take any of your concerns seriously.

I honestly think TDO is smarter than that. They can see we are pleased...and they can also see what kind of a company we thought that Disney was. And still is. I just think and fear to many deci$ion$ are made by them without any regard to the quality that once got them to this position of prominence that we come to expect from them.

Its looking good, hopefully this new attitude keeps on rolling through the rest of the parks as well, its tough to keep up but thats the Disney difference.

If I wanted to go to a dirty park I could go to a Six Flags or Cedar Fair park where it looks like things are half taken care of.

Muppet refurb?:brick: These things take time. You can't rush quality and have it stay quality. Yes, first MK, now EC, moving on to DHS........ Take off those blinders already :dazzle:

It's not justifiable. Two years ago, when nothing was announced it was marginally justified because the only one saying all this stuff was happening soon was me. I said that after DHS was through the development phase you would see things really start to happen at WDW. Which even a blind person can see is happening now. Where is the love for the amazing Splash refurb and the pending Muppetvision refurb. I believe there are some here who think crying on these boards is the reason the refurbs are happening. That is just delusional.

Here is the rub, for all the improvements and adds that we now have proof of, there are people here who sound every bit as fussy:cry: whiney:cry: as they did two years ago before we had proof. Even you declared how great the MK was looking.

So I'm calling shenanigans. The doomers are now officially just crying wolf to cry wolf in my book. Credibility is out the window in the name of complaining for complainings sake.

I'm done with the foolishness. There is too much positive stuff to discuss.

Adios.

Don't you get it? Refurbs are ALWAYS supposed to be going on. That's a constant. You don't applaud yourself for doing your daily chores, do you, jt? Splash looks great, I agree. I'm excited for Muppets. (Hopefully it goes well. ) That isn't "Doom and Glooming". It's called having expectations. Apparently yours are extremely low, seeing that you applaud and extrapolate over every minute change that "TDO" or "The Sheriff" imparts from on high. That's all there is. The constant defense and extrapolation of mediocrity, or things that should already be done by Disney based on past standards they set for themselves.

I'm thrilled MK looks great. You know that. I expect it to go on, and I expect more to come. We won't see that for another few years. One year of improvement doesn't do it for me. I'm not here in the moment, I'm looking a bit ahead. Maybe if you looked a bit further (Clean the lense! :D) you would see it too.

Agreed! Now's when they have been opening their eyes and seeing how badly they have been maintaining the resort. Mostly MK.

This isn't negativity. It's expecting quality out of Disney, given that that is the standard they have set for themselves.

Appreciating things for what they are is a part of it. I appreciate in full that they FINALLY got around to this. But, judging by what Disney has done in the past, they should have done it a lot sooner, and never let the tracks fall into such condition. It's just bad show.

This isn't insanity...it's just logic.

Well, it's done and saying it should of happened sooner doesn't really do anything except complain about some irrelevant.

And it may be logic to you, but insanity to others to focus so much on the path. However, any mega fan would do it and any non-fan wouldn't understand why someone would take it so seriously.

How is the neglect of the cleanliness of monorail beam for several years irrelevant?

This is a Disney FAN site, what do you expect?:lol:
