MM+ Why we can't have nice things.

I agree with this. I know a lot of prospective on these pages indicates that WDW is terrible and a rip off of money, but I don't think that's fair or accurate at all. It may be boring and stale to frequent visitors, but for people who have not been as often -- and can afford the prices -- it is still a great place to visit. And for certain groups (esp people with young children and people who prefer slow moving/immersive rides over ones with higher thrills), it is tough to beat WDW as an option for a vacation.

I would agree with encourage people to check out Uni as well as visit WDW at this point in time. Both have a lot to offer guests.
Agreed. Both places are worth visiting!

We get so caught up discussing how far down Disney had slid that it might seem like we think it is horrible. It isn't, of course. We'd just like it to be as wonderful as it used to be. But even if it isn't spectacular and amazing like it once was, it's still a great place to go. :)

I've posted in the appropriate thread, but I'll add here too that it looks like Universal Orlando is not pursuing a new ride reservation system. I thought it prudent to mention it here since other members thought they may be.
Any chance you could shed a little light on what you think it may be geared towards? P-p-p-pleeeeeease (insert Roger Rabbit voice)

Before you make any changes print them out, notarize them and have them countersigned in blood by the nearest disney representative. Barring that make sure you have your credit card company dispute number handy for when one of the to be linked reservations are lost!!

Guess LILO 3 years in still has issues with reservation links... How pathetic
Proof.

And I was able to book FP+ for today...

This system is SEAMLESS I tell you!

(seriously though, I did call and report it to Disney...they need to know about glitches like these so they can fix them)...

Those one day ticket may be a special event. Did you go to a Halloween or Christmas party? That is how they show on mine

Also as an annual passholder I've been able to book FP+ every day since my recent trip

I don't know if it's by design but I hope so
Nope and nope and nope.

1) I haven't been back to Disney since Aug 19. So, no xmas party and no halloween party

2) Those tickets were confirmed by Disney (I called MDE Tech Support) that they were from my 1 night 2 day stay at Contemporary on Aug 2 AND that they were used (but for some reason still show unused even though they also show used to enter Magic Kingdom on Aug 2).

3) I am not an AP holder. (nor, for the record, am I DVC or a Chase Disney Visa cardholder)

I highly doubt they are part of a "loyalty program". :p

Also, since reserving I have spent 3 hours and two phone calls on the site and the phone (not including the hour I spent calling Disney to report the two quirks I noticed, because I was pretty sure they need/want to know...which they did)...getting my accounts to link properly.

I haven't even customized my Magicbands yet! All this just to get the accounts linked right (and mind you, I'm educated on the system both being familiar with it and having used it before...so I knew what I was looking for and what questions to ask...Imagine if I didn't?)

They are fixed up now...but you can read my post where I describe the experience here:

MyMagic+ getting better?

If you scroll down in the same thread you'll see an account of what Disney said to me about the glitches as well...I got off the phone with them about 15 mins or so ago...

Ugly. Very ugly a somewhat similar experience drove me to cancel Christmas vacation at WDW

To be completely fair, Disney reps on the phone were universally knowledgable (some slightly more than others) and extremely polite and well spoken.

I ENJOYED the conversations...I just don't think I should have had to make them.

Also, (and there is already a thread about this)...they really need to get all of their teams on board as to how one should use the system. I followed the instructions Disney Travel gave me, but according to the Tech Support it would have been easier / faster to accomplish what I really wanted (control of everything from my account) without using the Family and Friends feature.

In the end...it all worked out...but not through the site. I had to call.

Oh, and my ADRs that I made yesterday still haven't "automatically" shown up...I'm about to start linking them...

If I wasn't familiar with the system and the importance it would play with my trip (having everything linked properly), and merely glanced at MDE (like I imagine a LOT of people will, rather than spend hours and hours poking away at it), I would have been in for a rude shock when we arrived...

I don't care what anybody says, very few people are going to book a trip just because of MM+. I have a question for ya Jimmy. How many people do you think will book a WDW vacation just to experience MM+? How many will book a trip to WDW to experience HP 2.0?

I must beg to differ. WDW IS about more than rides, is about more than flashy rides and the latest IP's.

The whole of WDW was built with 'the Spirit of EPCOT'. Everything must be novel, innovative, different entertaining. At Disney, you travel from A to B by monorail. Trash is collected underground. And at EPCOT you made advanced dinner reservations, over an automated system, that connected computers in an inter-network. With a touchscreen to boot. In 1982! This, and not flashy rides or IP's was the Disney difference. This was the reason one visited WDW and not Circus World or Cypress Gardens. MM+ is the spiritual descendent of EPCOT Center. MM+ and EPCOT even share the criticism of 'horribly over budget, instantly outdated, and misallocated funds'.

Jimmy Thick - EPCOT is still here. They're all gone, Circus World, Cypress Gardens, Mystery Fun House, Boardwalk and Baseball, IoA 1.0.

So do you. I've heard enough from you, Jimmy. Your childish need for attention shan't be fed by me anymore. Feel proud; you're the sole member of my "ignore" list now. I encourage the rest of you to do the same.
I wouldn't miss Jimmy's posts for the world. He is the best thing about this forum. I can read mob mentality and insults everywhere else on the internet. That is not why I'm here. In fact, it is why I would leave. I am here for people such as @WDWDad13 and @Jimmy Thick , who dare go against the tide and think for themselves. My kind of people. I usually disagree with everything they say, but they are my people.

The difference between MM and the 1982 EPCOT Touchscreen system is the 1982 system actually worked as designed and did so reliably.
