Ugh another year of Boo To You and Hallowishes? Don't get wrong they are great but it's been the same thing for years!!

Well, not quite. They have removed the best part of Boo To You, the Headless Horseman's ride ... and Hallowishes was cut by a few minutes maybe 7-8 years ago now, right @marni1971?

They've also cut other entertainment all while raising prices.

But don't you always dress up for Labor Day? It could be the new Festivus, lol...

I'm kind of sick of it. It was maybe 3-4 years ago now when they scheduled the first MNSSHP on Friday, 8/31. Yes, a Halloween Party on the Friday night before the last long weekend of SUMMER vacation. If I recall there were almost no Guests beyond lifestylers, who got freebies, and CMs, who got discounts.

There is no doubt the Christmas Creep has become the Halloween Hop, though. Summer doesn't end until 9/21 by my calendar and I don't understand how one can enjoy a fall event when it is 90 degrees with 80% humidity, but that's just me.

And UNI is getting almost as bad as Disney. It wasn't all that long ago that HHNs didn't start until just before 10/1.

2008 started on the 5th as well. Not that big of a jump. I am glad they added it back! Last year was so disappointed we couldn't take it in. If Wal-mart can have Halloween stuff on one aisle and Christmas on the next it is okay that you celebrate Halloween at Disney in early September. Ps, summer clothes go on clearance and winter stuff debuts after July 5th. This party has just always been so worth it to us.

Yup. If it's OK for The Walmart, then it's OK for WDW!

I went last year, only because DD had to cancel at last minute and @Lee needed a pal to hold his hand while Trick or Treating and make sure no goblins (like Phil Holmes) or witches (like say ... Willow Bay Iger) got to him. There was no Headless Horseman and CMs were saying it was due to legal. That there had been an 'incident' ... we went in the middle of October. When did you go?

We went on October 1st, he was still there. It was the coolest thing next to the fabulous parade. Was there any rain on your night? I know he won't come out if it rains because the horse slipped and fell at one party while the ground was wet, maybe that's why he wasn't there on your night?

Hallowishes lost 1 minute 53 seconds of pure pyro in 2008 when the Peter Pan, Fantasia and Hellfire sections were all cut. Similarly Holiday Wishes was cut by 2 minutes 1 second.

Wishes was also ordered to be cut down, but a passionate and dedicated local crew managed to thin out the shells used across the whole show and maintain runtime as opposed to removing whole sections.

Happy there is only 1 party during my trip! But I have never been to MNSSHP, and I would have loved to go. Would have been nice to get away and go solo that night since my family won't be interested, having a baby with us. Of course on the night of the 8th, we have Hoop Dee Doo booked for dinner.

So I guess it would be a huge waste of money to buy a ticket for myself and pop in after dinner?? I would hate to miss any party time. That is my number one rule with MVMCP.

I am excited to see MK all decorated for Halloween though! I usually go in November, so I am so used to the Christmas stuff.

They cut the headless horseman whenever it's wet. I have gone the last 3 years in late September and only in 2015 did we get to see him. I agree he is one of the best things about the night. I hope we don't get rained on again this year and see him again on both parades.

I won't be surprised if now you get a stamp at every candy stop that allows you only one trip to cut down on giving out too much candy. Or smaller treat bags.

Pumbas Nakasak

Heading for the great escape.
I dont do the begging part and Im sure Im not alone so I dont think the candy quota will be rationed just yet. Besides you colonials cat make sweets or chocolate for poo. Look at the mes Krapft have made of Cadburys.

Headless Horseman is still there, you can watch almost any youtube video of the event last year and see that even if he was missing the night you went because of inclement weather conditions or other possibilities.
