And, to further what Woody13 just said, 2 of the 3 pictures shown earlier are of obvious rehab/repair and not construction of new attractions. Look back at the Jungle Cruise photos. They are clearly installing new (or possibly refurbished) AA during daylight, while guests are on a boat touring the jungle cruise. To me, that's worse than a partially rehabbed sign.

Totally agree....and I'll admit doing work during the day is unavoidable....other than Thrawn's explanation, I personally feel most if not all of the work could be done after park closing or behind a cover. Doing it in front of guest when you don't have to me is bad....just my opinion though.

That's fine. You "personally" don't like seeing the work. I personally have no problem with it. We all see things differently.

But you earlier used the "Walt would not allow it" statement as your primary reasoning and labeled it bad show. That was the main issue. Some people have taken their own ideals and used those to shape their argument of what Walt would or would not do. That tendency to use "What would Walt do" is mostly off base and is at minimum ludicrous.

The times have changed, the vast majority around here didn't know Walt, and most just plain make things up about what he would or would not do. The best thing that can happen is that everyone leave Walt dead and buried (or frozen in the castle).

I never said anything like that. I said and gave examples of construction and rehab work at Disneyland in plain view of guests during the day while Walt was in charge

See above. Even if construction of the matterhorn can be excused, you can't say the work being done on the JC in those pictures isn't far worse than the MGM arch or anything else done in WDW for that matter.

I talk trash about people... but my god, this is a Disney board and online community. You all preach and praise the happiness of Disney and then you create a yucky, bitter environment here. not necessarily this thread, but just in general. sometimes it appears to me that people even "gang up" on each other. i mean, please. it's great to state your opinion, but some just people just seem like they think they know it all and are always right and thus put down others.

Hell, I'm just happy to see work being done on the parks! In view or hidden, no matter what name ends up on the arch, at least they are doing some refurb to something....

I don't see where you feel anyone was mean in this thread. You said that Walt would not have allowed something like this in his parks and I simply showed that was not the case. You can't call others hostile simply because they tried (successfully) to prove you wrong.

Sigh. Once again, the false belief that because Disney is considered a happy place, everything that talks about Disney must be happy.

Disney itself isn't always happy. The "show" part usually is, but most of the rest of the company is just a business like any other one. Do you think everything about Walmart has to be happy?

On a message board, people have differing opinions. Message boards wouldn't survive without them. Heck, Disney wouldn't survive without people that like different things. If everyone just wanted to ride Jungle Cruise and Peter Pan, Disneyland would never have grown, there would never be a Walt Disney World, and we wouldn't be here discussing this.
