I feel like I live in a wind tunnel! I woke up when something hit the house and now I can't sleep...its driving me crazy. The snow is down to flurries and nothing seems to be sticking long.

They're looking for a little Christmas flavor
But they're headed for a little bit of trouble
They're looking for excitement and adventure
Time to be turnin' around...time to be turnin' around...

Hey Vince and friends, better mend your ways
You're headed for trouble one of these days
The Christmas Season will be a waste
So let's go back to our in-season ways...

Time to be turnin' around...time to be turnin' around...
Time to be turnin' around...time to be turnin' around...

On a side note...who's gonna dare go Christmas shopping the day after thanksgiving???

This is the first yeasr in a looooooong time I won't have to do that! Usually we have family in from downstate for Thanksgiving and they need to hit the stores while they're up here. This year they're coming up a few weeks later.

I, on the other hand, have most of my shopping done :D

I saw Elf last weekend, and as much as I don't want to admit it, the Christmas tingle is there. I'm not celebrating it yet until I know for sure if my fiance' can come up. If she can't then I will be spending my first ever Christmas alone... in DC... in a barely furnished apartment......

Hold on, I need to go beg to my fiance's mom to let her come.

And remember to think of all my brothers over in the sandbox who don't really get to celebrate.

Hey Grizz...Im Italian. Guess what our traditional Christmas Eve dinner is? FISH!!! Are you coming over for dinner? We'll be serving Vince and Chips!

I love everything about the Christmas season, except for the rush of it! I realize that in recent years retailers have taken a hit due to the economic circumstances, but, I really need to carve my Jack~O~Lantern before I buy my Christmas centerpiece. Needless to say, I wont be turning on Nat King Coles Christmas album till Thanksgiving

I am currently blocking out my Christmas village (got new 'accessories' but need that granulated styrofoam snow and TACKY WAX!!) and planning it, so I am not completely void of spirit. I just need about 10 more hours in my day!

I used to do Black Friday, back when we had small children in the family, but after a particularly disturbing half day at Toys R Us, I grew weary of batteling over Barbies and instead turned to the JC Penney Wish Book, and my prayers were answered  Havent done Black Friday since!

Madaline, I cant believe you actually WORKED at Woodbury during Christmas! Goodness, woman! I now wont go up there till JANUARY at least!

I LOVE the Christmas Story marathon! I usually keep that on while Im wrapping, because, yes, I AM a Christmas Wrapping Procrastinator! Anyone else watch A Charlie Brown Christmas? Love that one too :) And of course Its a Wonderful Life. Makes me cry every year without fail.

Sidenote here: Anyone here do the Christmas Crackers? We started about 10 years ago, and its become a family tradition ever since!

One year I was finished in August & had everything wrapped, too!

I took soo much grief that I vowed never to do that again.

Actually, I did that one year, too. It turned out to be one of the most expensive Christmases of my life, though, because once I started hearing all those Christmas carols and seeing all those decorations, I went out and bought everyone even MORE stuff!

So did I...so everyone would have at least one thing from their list.

I also collect ornaments (started back in the 70's when I was a teenager). Every year I need at least 1 new one and I've found at least 5 so far that I want. The ones that I get each year for the kids don't count because they will leave when the kids move out on their own. :( (and they have some great Disney ones.)

We do fish on Christmas Eve...My husband's birthday. We celebrate at my in laws (and they're not Italian, I'm part)
so I don't know why we do fish, but its great!!!:slurp:

Lisa, I had no choice, but to work on Black Friday...no one got the day off. Next time you plan a trip let me know and we'll "do lunch".

Its not Christmas without Charlie Brown and George Bailey, we have both and they run all season long. :hammer:

My sister in law is from Wales and she started us on the Crackers when she joined the family...the kids really look forward to them, its great fun!

its the most wonderful time of the year!

My best friend when I was growing up was Italian, so I always ate fish at her house after Mass. We have either Cuban sandwiches or chili on Christmas Eve. That way I don't have to cook, and can enjoy going to church.

We've been "doing" Christmas Crackers for about 25 years. We were first introduced to them, along with the Gay Gordon and toasting The Queen, when we lived in Toronto.
