All franchises should stop at 3 films. They become too forced and we get "prequels".

X-Men did three excellent movies and an awesome prequal. There is a sequal to the prequal in addition to other prequals slated. They could make X-men movies forever there is so much material for that franchise and I for one hope they do.

X-Men made TWO excellent movies, followed by a steaming piece of crap on toast and a prequel I can't judge, because I haven't gotten around to seeing it yet.

Sorry Paul...nothing personal. I hated that third movie with the same vehemence that most people around here reserve for Spider-Man 3...which I actually thought was a decent flick.

How does this relate to WDW?

Because if Sony decides not to keep their rights to Spiderman they revert back to Marvel....er, I mean Disney. In which case Disney could choose to create a new Spidey film franchise. At which point Uni could decide to drop the characters from IoA which would then allow Disney to use Spiderman et al at WDW's theme parks.

However, Uni could decide it is not in their interest to keep promoting Marvel at IoA anyway. So then Disney could do that anyway.

My guess has always been the second scenario.

Disney film has really nothing to do with the parks.

If I was Uni I would feel this way but I have a feeling that they will hold on to Spidey till the bitter end.

If it's not under their name, it wouldn't... I don't know if they would do that, though, put Disney on Spidey. Might scare some comic book nerds away. :lookaroun

I thought X3 and Origins were just okay. Spiderman 3 IMO was the biggest superhero sequel disaster since Batman and Robin (although in its defence it wasn't quite as bad of a movie). I was hoping they were going to make Spiderman 4 to make up for it. Oh well...

See, Spider-Man 3 was just a terrible movie, where as X:3 and X:Origins were terrible movies that also ruined characters(Wolverine, Cyclops, Juggernaut, Emma Frost, Deadpool).

Sure, all stories come back around eventually. But I'm not sure Sony will be the one doing it.

Sony has already announced it for 2012. In fact, they were doing the reboot before the plug was pulled on Spidey 4.

It's happening.

I think rebooting Spidey will ruin what they have created. What is the sense in denying everything that is already there. Everyone already has their image of what the franchise should be. Some may not agree with the previous casting but a majority of people see Tobey Maguire as Spiderman. I don't think much good can come from doing this. They should have just had a better focus at making what they had better. I am disappointed, I liked the movies.

I loved Venom and how awesome he looked, but hated when Topher Grace's head popped out of the venom suit. I liked Topher in the role, but he looked weird in those scenes
