Marvel in Hollywood Studios?

While we're on the subject of thread topics which never cease to appear on a weekly basis, did any of you hear that if you shout "Andy's Coming!" to Woody, Jesse, or Buzz...they fall down?

p.s. Which films are under-represented at the parks, and what celebrities have you seen at WDW?
Can I reuse a refillable mug?

Can I swim at the Poly if I'm saying at the Holiday Inn?

Has anybody ever eaten at _____?

How has this thread made it 6 pages without being merged with the 15-page thread arguing the same nonesense at the same time? Mods? Mods? Bueller? Anyone?!?

Can we just start banning people who bring up this topic at this point? The contract has been online for years now. The facts keep being ignored even though we have been having this same discussion ad naseum. At this point, the Marvel at WDW crowd isn't just burying their heads in the sand. They have their heads stuck somewhere less pleasant.

Out of curiosity what didnt you like about it? Haven't seen it though I will at some point soonish. Do you now not specifically like Marvel because of the movie? Or just in general and why?
Just did not like them right now will be fine in a few days lol. I am a big comic dork and there is a twist in the movie that slaps the comics bad. There where good parts in the movie and most will like it. But it felt like Star Wars TPM all over agian. U can also tell Disney had there hand in this one. Nothing but a big toy commercial.

Except that more popularity makes a higher price more reasonable.

Disney is going to build Marvel attractions all over the world. No matter how much money the Marvel movies make, why would they ever write a billion dollar+ check to Universal just to build more of them in FL? There are plenty of things they can build in FL without writing a huge check. The shareholders would lose their .

Let's say Disney decided to buy back the theme park rights from Universal. Let's say they get the rights back for a bargain price of 1-billion (which is 1/4 of what they paid for the entire company and shareholder complained they overpaid.) They still have to pay to actually build the attractions.

Why would anyone want that? For the price of buying just the rights, Disney could build every Potter Swatter fans have been salivating over. They could fix all the parks OR buy the rights to Marvel.

Just go to IOA, people. It's nice. Or fly to any of the Disney parks around the world that will eventually have Marvel attractions. It's that simple!

Why would Disney want to clearly offer a Marvel experience that is clearly lesser than Marvel Superhero Island?

Well, I think the premise would be to offer some Marvel stuff without guests having to leave the WDW property. Not everyone goes to both Universal and WDW in the same trip. Plus, you could say the same thing about the monorail wraps.

Also: it increases the brand awareness of Marvel which would certainly make the higher ups at Burbank happy. And it creates something "for boys" in a resort that slants more towards little girl offerings.

Besides making current attractions actually function (Yeti), I believe Disney needs to focus on one thing at a time. The purchase of LucasFilm was huge! USE IT! It's time to create attractions based upon the great LucasFilm movies...TUCKER, WILLOW, AMERICAN GRAFFITI, and THX 1138!
Re-Theme TestTrack after Tucker, creating the car of the future!
Re-Theme the old Camp Mickey and Minnie after Willow, a kingdom of mythical creatures!
Re-Theme Hollywood Blvd and Sunset Blvd after American Graffiti, by having 1960's "hot rods" cruizin' while Wolfman Jack is piped in on the park PA system.
Re-Theme Journey Into Imagination after THX 1138, a futuristic world of "big brother is watching you".
Now we're talkin'!

They could make a lot of money off it. How many Marvel fans would want to stay at a Marvel hotel while on vacation? Universal doesn't offer that experience. It's a way for Disney to make lots of money from Marvel at WDW without breaking their contract.

Also, since when has Disney cared about offering a better experience than something Universal does? One could argue that Disney hasn't matched anything Universal's done in a long time. Disney always makes decisions that are profitable ones regardless if it's as good as another place or not.

We can't even assume that Disney's experience would be a lesser experience. For some people, it could be a better one. It's up to the individual. Regardless, it would allow Disney to make money from Marvel at IoA and WDW. It's a win-win for them.

My thoughts: I don't think too highly of Marvel Superhero Island and I'm a Universal passholder. I like Spider-man, that's about it. The land's not a pleasure look at and it's often overcrowded.
