Marvel in Hollywood Studios?

So we're getting a Marvel/Avatar fifth gate next to a Star Wars sixth gate with a new Adventurer's Club monorail expansion built on the former Universal Orlando Resort that was bought and razed by Disney?
Actually, you also forgot HASBRO LAND after Disney buys a toy maker and creates a 7th gate based on Hasbro toys...

Better yet... a sticky thread THINGS NOT HAPPENING IN WDW:

1) Monorail expansion
2) Marvel
3) 5th theme park
4) anything of substance...

I completely agree. And i'm dead serious too, at the very least if these threads keep on coming (which they probably will) i'd say we need a sticky thread that warns people not to post any Marvel related rumors involving WDW theme parks. While the other three items are realistically probably just as unlikely to be built anytime soon, they're unlikely for different reasons- current leadership's cheapness. With those three it's completely Disney's choice whether to do them or not (they could if they wanted to spend the money). And while it's a safe bet that things won't be changing anytime soon if ever at WDW at this point, there's always at least a chance that a different leadership team could take over and change things for the better at WDW. However astronomically small that chance may be.

Marvel however cannot happen regardless of how much Disney would want it to. They are contractually legally forbidden from doing anything Marvel related inside WDW theme parks. That's enough of a reason to instantly disregard any person or site that would suggest such a thing and render their source's credibility as null.

Avatar is coming. Whether you consider it good or bad, it will be of substance.

With rumors of Avatar "land" being massively scaled back to simply one ride and a gift shop, and that one single ride being hinted as a "Soarin 2.0" simulator of sorts, I wouldn't say it's safe to assume that Avatar Land will even be anything of substance at this point. I was more willing than some others on this site to look past the thematic intrusions involved with Avatar at Animal Kingdom (though still a gripe with me) as long as we'd get a really awesome quality ride. But even that isn't looking all that likely at this point.

If there is but a single attraction for Avatar, can we even still consider it a land, except in name only?

Perhaps it was and the the cleaners had to come in so it could be reopened.
We have 1000 Avatar threads, I guess 1001 Marvel in WDW threads won't matter... Oh wait, Marvel in WDW is not and can not happen.. We have discussed this to death... That's why I am shocked it was reopened... it is useless really...

There isn't a whole lot of room left at DHS if they do Cars Land. It would be cool to have Marvel in the parks though. I think that Epcot could do some stuff with the Avengers. Disney could do a Thor attraction in Norway and a Captain American attraction in the America pavilion.

Please...please...tell me you are joking! Characters (or heroes) don't belong in Epcot attractions (meet & greets or dining aside), with World Showcase even less appropriate than Future World.

In case you don't know, Disney can't use Marvel in Florida parks.

Star Wars comics were once printed by Marvel... Imagine a Star Wars/Avengers cross over what it would do for lawyers and arbitration? LOL...

I think the closest we'll see to Marvel at WDW in the foreseeable future is maybe Big Hero 6 characters on a parade float. They might be able to pull off something with Guardians of the Galaxy as well. Only they know what they are capable of for sure, and even then, Universal could still try to challenge it somehow. That doesn't mean Universal would win, but it could delay whatever Disney is trying to do. A parade float might not be worth the time for Universal, but a Guardians of the Galaxy ride might. Of course, if the series flops right from the start, Disney won't be interested in a ride and Universal probably wouldn't care enough if they still tried.

There might be some workarounds, but I will expect Disney to do their research before they would attempt anything. My thoughts on the family issue are like with Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Mickey Mouse and Bugs Bunny appeared together, but that didn't make Mickey a Looney Toons character. For crossovers, I would say one group or the other would be considered a guest. So if somehow Star Wars crossed over in The Avengers, Star Wars would still be its own thing. I don't see how that's possible anyways and I really hope they would never do that. It could still cause trouble for Disney, but I really think it would be up to a lawyer's interpretation of it all and it could really end up swaying either way.

I agree. If they are going to make a separate land for Avatar (called Pandora or Avatarland or whatever), it should have more than 1 attraction. I think 2 attractions, a restaurant, and merchandise would be around the minimum needed (maybe with a walk through or M&G added).
