Marvel coming to WDW?!?!

I almost think Hotel Hightower works better as a Twilight Zone episode then the Hollywood Tower Hotel. The karmic twist of a corrupt colonialist collector becoming a plaything of one of his ill-gotten acquisitions is very Twilight Zone.

The way that works though is with the iconic exterior as well. Having said that, the 5th dimension scene in Florida makes it a better attraction IMO.

Redoing Star Tours as a GotG attraction would make sense in the long term with Star Wars Land coming...

...but that's probably why they won't do it.

I think it would make sense, but they probably wish to get GotG into the parks sooner rather than later. They aren't changing Star Tours until Star Wars land opens which seems like 2019 at the earliest for DHS. I think they want to have GotG in the parks in the next year or so.

Aside from Carousel of Progress I would welcome Guardians of the Galaxy to any other Tomorrowland attraction. Tomorrowland needs a total overhaul.

While I'd prefer original attractions, I completely agree. It would be far from worse than Tower. I would have a problem with Space Mountain getting a permanent Guardians overlay. I'd love Buzz to get swapped out now that Toy Story is getting a fleshed out land to itself.

Space Mountain as a concept is iconic. The Florida version of Space Mountain is not. I'd be disappointed to see Space Mountain removed entirely, but the attraction needs to be rebuilt at the very least.

Apologies for this post where I come up with silly names for attraction overlays

Carousel of the Galaxy
Guardians of Progress
Groot's Great Escape
Drax's Space Ranger Spin
Hall of Guardians
Groot and Rocket's Jamboree
Guardians of the Caribbean
A Groot's Life
Starlord Tours
Guardians of the Galaxy of Energy
Journey into 70's music
Living with the Groot
The Space with Rocket and Friends
The Guardian Adventure
Starlord's Epic Stunt Spectacular
Drax's MetaphorlessMagic

This whole thread has just reminded me about how sad both Future World and Tomorrowland are currently. Given that nobody seems freaked about anything in Tomorrowland (except CoP), I'm thinking it is Future World that could be getting the WoM treatment with a GOTG makeover. Now is it Energy, WoL or Imagination?...all would rile the Epcot Theme purists potentially more than ToT.

Why exactly would Disney turn Splash Mountain into a Guardians of the Galaxy ride?
1. Put GotG in Splash Mountain
2. ???
3. Profit

Quite simple really.
That's the big issue, there's nothing that really fits well into that space unless it's either A: a theater show (2 theaters) or B. a simulator of some kind.
Sure, unless you fully gut everything including the gift shops. Obviously Disney would never do that though. They can replace a ride with a M&G but a gift shop will always stand.
Aside from Carousel of Progress, Space Mountain, and the PeopleMover, I would welcome Guardians of the Galaxy to any other Tomorrowland attraction. Tomorrowland needs a total overhaul.
Amended.

I would be okay with a temporary GotG overlay on Space Mountain, maybe just for a few years, but we all know there's no such thing as temporary at WDW.

It's really a shame that we even have to worry about losing an attraction at all here. I just don't understand why they can't build a brand new E-ticket for the franchise. As we've seen with Frozen Ever After, overlaying an old attraction can take just as long as building a new ride from scratch, so I think that kind of negates the argument that they're doing this to get the Guardians in the parks faster. Whatever the reason is, it's just so frustrating that DHS is screaming for new attractions and a franchise that would fit well in that park and is deserving of a brand new E-ticket is not being given one.

Just look at the "temporary" HyperSpace Mountain at Disneyland. I'm sure it was supposed to be gone by now. For GotG Disney just needs to bite the bullet and build new. I'm sick of overlays.

And Nemo is FISHY which was enough of prior justification for replacing The Living Seas
I almost think Finding Dory's aquarium/marine rescue setting was picked specifically so they could retool Seas with Nemo again. Making Sea Base into the not-Monterrey Bay Aquarium would at least be a tasteful way of handling the IP versus the tackiness of what's in there now.

Well from the hints we got earlier the "likes" received from A-Aron, it seems pretty evident the attractions being looked at in Epcot and DHS

If TDA wanted to save money by Bringing TDO on board, why not overlay both Space Mountains? (How much could it cost to get some onboard audio in WDW) It's a much better fit than destroying TOT and the IP would make more thematic sense in Tomorrowland. And they still would have Star Tours to fuel the Star Wars hype until SWL opens.

Is GOTG in DCA a done deal? Please NO.

Florida's track cannot support the weight from an onboard audio system. A few years ago, Space Mt. should have been gutted and rebuilt from the ground up, but Phil Holmes blocked that from happening. WDW's track layout is FAR superior to the nonstop spiral in DL, but DL has a smoother ride with better FX. Look up YouTube videos of the two Space Mts with the lights on, and you'll see how badly Florida needs a new track.

Well since my "likes" were noticed, I guess I'll say that yes, what I have heard involves Epcot, though I don't know too many details. I'm curious to see if what @WDW1974 is hearing is the same as what I'm hearing. Anyhow, hopefully Spirit will be able to find out some more information on this and let all of us know :)

Well there goes that idea... And all my hopes and dreams.

I'm stilling holding onto (most likely false) hope that this wont happen at DCA.
