Marvel coming to WDW?!?!

Nothing can be worst then tot, so it's a win in my book. Hopefully they give gog the attraction that this franchise deserves.

I agree. Even Space Mountain wouldn't make me upset. But I really think folks are on to something with Mission: Space. It is a ride that isn't nearly hitting its capacity. And the biggest issue for me is the current graphics in the simulators, that makes me sick...not the movement. Isn't it kinda lightly themed to the Mission to Mars movie currently? (Same star, but diff storyline?)

Mission: Space is safe, and isn't going away, at least not anytime soon.

Well we have rounded the circle of attractions and it seems like we have come down the final answer....Spaceship Earth!

Wait....don't lock that in, I wanna phone a friend

@aaronml please pick up!
It isn't SSE either (thank god!)... I can't really say much more. I will say that I am of the opinion that if I had to pick between GotG going into ToT, and the attraction that I have heard it is going into, I would pick the one that I have heard it is going into, although I wouldn't be happy with either choice.

It would be such a waste if they replaced Stitch with GoTG...unless they ripped out the current ride system and replaced it with something else...which I can't imagine given the limited space. I'm assuming Seas, SSE, Land, and TT are all off limits at Epcot. And now Mission Space is off limits...so that leaves Imagination, WoL, UoE at Epcot, RnRC and ST at DHS, Stitch, MILF, Buzz and SM at MK. I would think that Stitch, Buzz and Space Mountain are the most likely after RnRC. And the only one I could see fans getting upset by would be SM.

I could pretend I have insider sources (I don't) but connecting the dots from all the hints people have said here, I'm convinced that it is Energy that is being looked at for a GotG makeover -- but sounds like it would be an outright replacement (with a roller coaster) as opposed to a re-theming of the current infrastructure.

I interpret "worse" in terms of a thematic fit, not necessarily the quality of any existing ride.

I don't think it's anything to do with Tomorrowland. They're already spending some time and money on CoP and removing Stitch, Buzz or Monsters Inc. would be an improvement. Same goes for almost anything else at DHS.

My guess is Future World. UoE, Wonders of Life and Innoventions give plenty of dead or underutalized space to work with, and few things are more irrelevant to the land's intended purpose than hyping a comic book blockbuster.

Mission: Space would make for a easier overlay, but the ride's somewhat popular as is and doesn't really need the same kind of attendence boost as other Epcot attractions.
I can't see Disney using Wonder of Life for Guardians of the Galaxy due to Disney wants a festival center.

Disney already is using the millennium village for the Food and Wine Festival. The only other place Disney could do a Festival center is Innoventions. Ideally, I rather have Disney scrap the idea of having a festival center at former attraction buildings, but this is Disney you are talking about.

I would A - OK with this

That's the big issue, there's nothing that really fits well into that space unless it's either A: a theater show (2 theaters) or B. a simulator of some kind.

Wait wait wait......how does Guardians fit into Epcot whatsoever? Nemo, Caballeros, Frozen, and Inside Out all make a degree of sense. But that is WAY too far fetched...

Because they are based on space and space travel is kinda future-y. Yes, that's a terrible justification, but you asked. It's pretty much as tortuous a justification as Frozen at Norway IMHO. There are much better IPs that could be integrated into FW if they had to go that direction (e.g. BH6 with Baymax, Inside Out, even Tron).

To be honest, if they were available for WDW use (they aren't, I'm just talking hypothetically), I wouldn't actually mind using Ant-Man (shrinking technology) or Iron Man (personal mechanical suits) as a way to introduce theoretical technology in a way consistent with Epcot's history of edutainment.

But GotG despite being set in space aren't particularly futuristic or "science-y". They don't really work with FW. Their most appropriate place would be in a land in DHS. Alternatively, they would be reasonable for Tomorrowland, which is more of a sci-fi fantasyland than a future world expo at this point (CoP notwithstanding).
