Marvel coming to WDW?!?!

I'd like to see how you move around after being struck by lightening ;)

Smoothly like the Troop Transport on Indiana Jones Adventure! I find it funny how over at Indiana Jones Adventure, the EMV's are as much an actor in the ride as the effects and scenery, yet don't distract you. Meanwhile, the carts at TOT in FL are too noisy and rough and don't fit the whole story of how you were struck by lightning and you crawl up the tower.

Walt's Spinning Electric Generator...dumbo ride that is planned as the centerpiece of Phase 3?
Oh no, its a premise of putting magnets on the Walt spinning dead body that is buried below the Castle to generate power.
It spins at insane speeds because of all the BS the current management has done to the parks.
Thus would probably generate more power than all Earth's powerplants combined.

Just an update from a trusted source, but news from TDA is that DCA's ToT extreme makeover (Bob Iger IP Ego Edition) is now showing up on planning calendars, with the ride tentatively closing September 19th and reopening in May of 2017.

The bigger plans for the pre-show and some additional exterior work were agreed to by TDA and the closure will be longer now, instead of waiting until next January. The financial greenlight won't happen until July, purposely until after Shanghai opens.

The WDW version is still stuck in limbo for a list of operational and logistical reasons exclusive to the what was once an amazing vibrant and dynamic theme park and working studio, but is now a sad corpse where you can buy lots of Star Wars crap but not actually experience any ... well ... you know ... attractions.

Soon, they're gonna tout waiting in hour long lines as "attractions" themselves, or "experiences". How I've come to dislike that word!!

Thanks for the heads up on the current plans- I'm glad TDO is ...stalling, it seems... Hopefully someone pulls the collective head out of the collective no-go zone before the trigger is pulled for Orlando.

Bummer... I will be at DCA Nov of this year... was kinda hoping it would have been changed by then and was morbidly curious to be one of the first to try it out before they realize what a horrible abomination they have created and burn the thing to the ground lest the ride contaminate the rest of the sanctity of the (once) happiest place on Earth... ah man...

They are forgetting how vocal DL's APs are. Hopefully the ride tanks and this can lead to chappie getting some flack.

While I love ToT, and I love Guardians, this seems like Frostrom all over again. Gutting a ride that is a fan favorite for an IP that is deserving its own, unique and immersive attraction. I get it, but I don't get it.

Part of me hates seeing ToT being gutted, part of me wants to see how far this boondoggle will go.

So... yeah.

If history is any indication, this means we'll be getting a brand new, custom E-Ticket Guardians attraction instead of their cheap overlay, right? Right? Oh, well, one can dream.

Far worse. I mean, when it comes right down to it Maelstrom was more of a cult favorite, but this is the damn Tower of Terror. The big iconic blockbuster E-Ticket of the 90s. This whole debacle is why this stupid "Let's have guys from different divisions play musical chairs to determine who's in charge of what" strategy just doesn't work.

I hate to say it, but I'm glad they're being cheap in this case. I would much rather ToT in DHS remain themed as-is than get (just about) ANY overlay. Of course the problem will be getting Guardians what it really deserves, its own NEW e-ticket, but baby steps, I suppose.

Hey now, slow down before you get a speeding ticket!

I'm with you on this. GotG should really get its own shiny new ride... Lord knows Disney is making enough money from the franchise and with a sequel coming out in a few years...:greedy:
