:D Hey Everybody. I am thankfully finished with our band competition. (not FBA yet)
Yesterday was a huge and busy day, with an equally busy schedule.

Here was a run through.

6:00-10:00 P.M. Football Game (went by bus)
11:00 P.M. Get back to band room.
12:00 P.M. Go home and sleep.

Saturday:
8:00-9:00 A.M. Wake up and get to band room.
10:00-11:30 A.M. March in Swamp Buggy Parade
12:00-1:15 P.M. Relax and eat
1:30-2:30 P.M. Get back to band room and practice marching.
3:00-4:00 P.M. Take a bus ride to Palmetto Ridge High School.
4:00-5:00 P.M. Eat lunch and watch some bands perform.
5:00-7:00 P.M. Get uniforms on and practice music.
7:45-7:55 P.M. March in front of judges and large crowd.
8:00-9:00 P.M. Watch remaining bands.
9:30-10:00 P.M. Judging/Getting back on buses/Changing out of uniforms
10:00-10:45 P.M. Bus ride back to band room.
10:45-11:00 P.M. Listen to band director talk/put away uniforms
11:10-11:30 P.M. Go home and sleep

It was a crazy day but at the end, we all had loads of fun.
(I feel bad for the Freshman though)
In only 15 mins?!

Does....not....compute!

BOTH of our directors could go on for at least a hour. And they did.:brick:

remain in uniforms in the stands at a competition? We only did that if we were near one of the last bands. even the officers took their uniforms off.. though ran back for theirs later when it was time for awards... Competition wear was nice shorts with your band shirt... that way we were still uniform after the juding but not uncomfortable or the few hours left.

No, we only had them on during and after our performance. (3 bands followed us.)

You had a very lax director then...

Uniforms were NEVER supposed to come off, only Shacoes. It's not good show!

We always just wore black pants with black shirts as our uniform. (I feel like I'm starting a "Four Yorkshiremen" variation. :lookaroun  )

This was 2001 - 2004 marching seasons... If we performed at say 1 and the event ended around say 8... they came off, mostly so A, the students would be comfortable, and B save on dry cleaning bills... that and so the students could have food and drinks. If we performed at 7 and the event ended at 8 they would remain on... but no food.

We were a small band my freshmen year, so we would go early.. then have to sit through the October heat and humidity.. We were doing this every weekend in october but 1 (home coming) and then doing them in nov as much as possible.. if we qualified for FMBC we went... but we still had FBA then we were done with marching season... If it was colder we had the option to keep it on... My senior year we were a medium band so we went later and had competitions where we didn't take our uniform off... or in one case were sitting in the end zone (mind you I still went back to the trailer with my equipment :drevil:)

God bless the "Ignore" button.
We ALWAYS had to be in full uniform. Of course we always competed last, so it wasn't too big of a deal.
It kind of stunk, though, since we rarely got to see other bands perform...
