That would totally ROCK....having the 'Living Character' versions of Mick n' Pals in the MSEP.

Looking forward to hearing more news about that, once it goes public in a few weeks and starts it's run.

I am SO glad it is BACK!!

I was hoping they were going to change the drum to say "Main Street Electrical Parade" guess TDO didn't want to foot that bill either.

There is still around a month to get the parade ready. I'm not saying they will change it, but I don't think we should be judging it from a very brief preview a month before opening.

They're not gonna change the drum.. I'm sure Disney's thinking about bringing this back to DCA at some point so there's no point in changing it over. I also wish they would but knowing Disney I know they wouldn't, and the preview picture pretty much confirms it. They even have the entertainment rehearsal signs backstage showing the "DEP" logo. Sorry to be a downer but I don't want to see anyone have their hopes up..

There's plenty of reason to change the drum. Maybe because.....oh hmm...they advertised it as The MAIN STREET Electrical Parade?

I agree with you though, disneykw, knowing TDO these days, I seriously doubt they'll change it. We'll just have to wait though to know for sure. I remember watching an interview where someone asked "this is the MAIN STREET, electrical parade, right?" Apparently not. It certainly won't ruin my trip, but it's enough of a change that makes it different from the "classic that goes right up main street" as I've heard them say a few times now, which is disappointing. It's bad enough they changed the music (and the key signature too!), but this just really brings me down.

But on the bright side, at least we have it!!!!

Oh no how did they change the music???? Is it not the same classic theme/hoedown?

I have no problem with WDW putting on DEP but then don't promote it as MSEP

wonder what MK told the guests Sun night to call it?

Yes
It's the same old Baroque Hoedown, but a new arrangement initially created for Tokyo Disneyland. The key is still the same, it was just tuned a little sharp initially

while it may seem strange to be making such a big fuss over this, i'm truly grateful to see other fans not only passionate about the parade in generalbut even moreso of it's proper name.

I think it is wrong and misleading to advertise it as Main Street Electrical Parade than turn around and call it Disney's Electrical Parade. I would have had no problem if it was advertised as DEP all along but the MSEP seems to be used as a marketing gimmick. I think its misleading to a small extent and is a slap to long time fans who truly do treasure the original memories of the classic parade.

It was only ever called DEP in a park in California that had no Main Street. Changing a drum is not that extreme of a change. Years ago this would be expected and assumed. They continue to raise the prices, they market a whole campaign around the return of the parade and continue to call it by that name, even on the official sites? This is one inconvenience that they pay people to do as part of their normal job, why such a minor thing be an issue? There is time before June 6th to see what the do, but a part of me will be disappointed to see the parade back on a Main Street with the cheesy uncreative parade title from DCA while all the guide maps and websites advertise it with the classic name. With all the advertising and marketing for what this is getting, it is not unreasonable to expect the title float to reflect the actual name they continue to call it.

True, its not unreasonable at all and is totally expected. But TDO could probably care less sadly. This is how they do things, as little as possible, leave things incomplete (ahem spaceship earth) and just get by. Maybe when the parade starts the pa announcement will at least say main street electrical parade, it better!!

I couldn't agree more. They have been pushing MSEP, not DEP. Hopefully this gets changed, but I have a feeling it won't.

Thank goodness I'm not the only one that is bothered by DEP instead of MSEP. My family says "who cares? It's the same parade with a different name, get over it." They'll never understand!
