Main Street Electrical Parade Debut

If you're gonna be nit-picky, then you also need to slam the original creators of the Florida Electrical Parade.

The original drum read "Walt Disney World presents...The Main Street Electrical Parade."

And yet, the announcement said "The Magic Kingdom proudly presents...."

So which is it?

THEY WERE IDIOTS!!!!!!!

No, you're wrong. The initial 1977-1991 run had "Walt Disney World" on the drum and "Walt Disney World" in the announcement. That announcement was never released at all, CD or vinyl. The 1999-2001 run had "The Magic Kingdom" on the drum and "The Magic Kingdom" in the announcement. Perhaps your confusion is because of my video with the different announcement and drum, but that's because the original Walt Disney World announcement is not available.

Wish i had the chance to see it. Elliot looks so cool! Whatever name they call it, its just nice to see it back, if only for ten weeks. What a tought task to tear those floats apart and then put them back together. Did you see all those wires he cut? they ere not plugged together, and now someone has to put them all back together. Great job Disney!

LP now has the electrical parade cd available, but it says Disneys Electrical Parade, Disneyland Resort. Would have hurt them to rerelease it with new cover art that at least says Disney World on it or Main Street Electrical Parade? Has anyone seen it in the park yet?

that's actually the CD that was made when it came to DCA in 2001

a sign that is still technically accurate.

Had ALL of the Summer Nightastic marketing materials for WDW not stated Main Street Electrical Parade, then yes, the sign on the drum would be accurate. However, that is not the case. So, techichally, it is NOT accurate.

If you're fine with the inconsistencies, that's cool. I would never slam you for accepting something that I may disagree with. That is your opinion
and your choice. That being said, don't slam me for actually caring about the details. Thanks.

So they are reusing the 2000 announcement?

from what i've heard they are splicing the announcements Jack Wagner did dfor the parade IDK which version they are splicing though as he technically did 3 versions here in the U.S. (DL & WDW and the majority of the DCA announcements were his voice w/ Don Dorsey providing the "Disney" references.

forgot to mention IDK know who did the '99-'01 announcements but i THINK they might have been done from scratch by Steve Skorija (if anyone here DOES know it'd be cool to know who did do those.

The preshow announcement from when I was in the MSEP back in the late eighties:

"Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls! In just a few minutes, you will be experiencing a unique pagent presented only in the Magic Kingdoms of Disneyland, Tokyo Disneyland and Walt Disney World: The Main Street Electrical Parade.

This sparkling fantasy recreates scenes from many of Walt Disney's most memorable film classics in over a half-million colorful, twinkling lights.

Powered entirely by batteries, some of the brilliant parade units measure up to twenty-three feet in height and one-hundred feet in length and together stretch for almost a quarter mile.

Each parade unit sets its own musical atmosphere by interweaving synchronized familiar Disney melodies with the continuous Electrical Parade theme in "electro-synthe-magnetic" sound.

Through the magic of light and sound, you will re-live "Alice in Wonderland" and attend Cinderella's ball.

You will see many members of the famous Disney character family including Seven Dwarves, Goofy and, of course, Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

In order for you to fully experience our parade, the Magic Kingdom area lighting will be reduced.

We recommend for your own safety and convenience that you enjoy our parade performance by remaining in one location until the lighting returns to normal.

We hope you'll enjoy the unusual, electrifying magic and exciting fantasy of the Main Street Electrical Parade. Presented by Energizer batteries, beginning in just a few minutes.

Thank you.
