The original is in between G and A, but closer to G (i THINK it's a quarter step.) The current one is in G at a=440hzsorry for making two posts together but another thought came to mind. What key is Barqque Hoedown played in For the Parade (Beaver/Dorsey Version?) It sounds like the key for the current soundtrack is G if i'm not mistaken
I have no clue why. The original Perrey + Kingsley recording of "Baroque Hoedown" was in this strange key, so I'm sure that's why they kept it. It gave it a sort of "foreign" sound, i think, which is why I'm so attached to it. It wouldn't be hard today to move the new one into that key, especially with all the digital technology available.A quarter step? Was this due to a sample rate or tape speed issue?
That is pretty weird. In the old days it wasn't all that unusual to have recordings that were pretty far out of tune, usually to match the tuning of a non-tunable instrument...but I doubt this would be the case in this situation.
