Just out of curiosity is there any merch out for MSEP yet? Just wondering if there is a new cd or anything.

I would guess a new CD should be out this summer with that and the new fireworks since they had the year to put it together from when it was at DCA.

Ok so, the drum has a different name, the music is different, and one (some?) of the floats have changed since the last time it was here.

But Pete's Dragon is coming back, right?!

Right blue fairy not returning, but as for the circus unit anyone else? Im not sure.

The circus (Dumbo) units were not part of the parade in DCA therefor did not have the "pixie dust" effect added nor the music track done for it. That is not to say it could not be added back in, but I doubt it.

while they wern't in the parade in '09,a new track was indeed made for it. go to YT and type "Disney's Electrical Parade Soundtrack 2009" it's the first 2 loops of music on the 2nd video

Sure is! Good catch!!!! I know they had the floats sitting backstage for a long while and we always wondered if they were going to show it or not! I hope it does make it out!

Sadly someone told me the circus (Dumbo) units were not sent to WDW :-( Can only hope he was lying but it does not sound like it. Its a shame because there was music created for the units AND I thought I heard awhile back DCA did add the pixie dust effect to the circus (Dumbo) units.

There's no reason they can't play the original intro "Main Street Electrical Parade" with the drum showing DEP.

It still works. This thread is ridiculous.

does anyone know if the butterfly girls from Spectro will be in the parade? that was really neat seeing them in it last time the parade was in town.

That's probably what they will do. Would be the least amount of effort and money. I never expect Disney to do anything right anymore.

Yeah except I can totally see Disney not wanting to re-record the intro. Remember: the original vocoder intro to the parade is in a substantially different key than the new one (a quarter step, weird), so they would either have to cut and paste it and adjust the key, or re-record the vocal intro altogether.

My bet: They use the "Disney's Electrical Parade" intro. :(

A quarter step? Was this due to a sample rate or tape speed issue?

That is pretty weird. In the old days it wasn't all that unusual to have recordings that were pretty far out of tune, usually to match the tuning of a non-tunable instrument...but I doubt this would be the case in this situation.

How long did the parade run at DCA before they changed the title on the drum?

The parade opened in DCA on July 2, 2001 and did not have the title on the drum changed until 2005.

We are getting it more 2 yrs max and they had for four years before it was made right.

sorry for making two posts together but another thought came to mind. What key is Barqque Hoedown played in For the Parade (Beaver/Dorsey Version?) It sounds like the key for the current soundtrack is G if i'm not mistaken

the parade at DCA always said Disney's Electrical Parade, ever since it opened in 2001. not sure what you mean about the drum changing in 2005.

In 2005 "Presented by Sylvania" replaced "A California Classic" on the drum. In 2009, of course, the "y" of Disney's was fixed and LEDs replaced the light bulbs, adding more effects.
