Just got back from a trip to DLP, lots of people (including us) was asking for a physical map, looks like they've listened to the demand. Really enjoyed being back in DLP after 20 years, now looking at it through my 6 year old's eyes! Drone show was fantastic, brought back a lot of memories. Thought only WDW was our family disney destination but have said we must go back once the updates are complete as enjoyed it so much.
Have you done Disneyland in California? If not I highly encourage you to do so. I think you'll come away with a similar experience. It's natural thing to think that because it's Walt Disney "WORLD" any other Disney destination is just second fiddle. It's fun to watch people discover how not true that is.

Absolutely. We prefer Paris currently as a resort with a new close second for now in Hong Kong.

Storybookland doesn't have a lighting package so doesn't open after dark... unless this changes during this refurb.

I am more concerned the book doesn't come back with the same design but some IP vomit.
It allready had the castle from Mickey and the Beanstalk on it.

This is compared to Tokyo as well?
IMO Tokyo is the end all be all of Disney Theme Parks as they should be. Ride for ride, show for show TDL knocks it out of the ball park.

With one odd exception which may be just me. I'm not a huge fan of the shows at Tokyo DisneySea on the water. They always seem to end up mostly being large boats driving in a circle. The production value is top notch and clearly very expensive but I have not been able to connect to any of those shows yet day or night. They've all been one and done's for me.

I've only done Paris and the American ones but Paris is my favourite. Disney world is too big and busy, and California suffers from being cramped in. Every part metre square is concrete and has rides squeezed in. I miss the space and beauty of Paris, it's more important than most people recognise. There's something nice about a fully disnified campus in the middle of nowhere which makes you feel like you are away from real life. Even if Disney village is a bit naff, I somehow prefer it to walking out to Anaheim city centre or having to get a tram then a bus then another bus home from magic kingdom.

At a more temporary level paris has had great shows recently and my last visit to California had nothing on at the Hyperion and no fantasmic either. Paris does need some new rides though and especially coaster rides.

Not yet. That’s 2028.

Shanghai next year all being well.
That sounds great! Shanghai Disneyland is an amazing park that doesn’t really get enough recognition from Disney fans. From all the castle parks I’ve been to (every park except Anaheim) Paris is my personal favourite due to nostalgia but Shanghai is probably the best. There isn’t a single flaw in that park it’s just all grand and beautiful and very well themed. Oh and Shanghai’s pirates is one of the best dark rides ever created

We've done both American resorts, Paris, and Tokyo. They each have their own thing that makes them special. WDW is still probably my favorite - none of the other parks in the world replicates Animal Kingdom, Epcot, or it's sense of scale. Plus, it's our "home" park where we celebrated our honeymoon many years ago and where we first took our daughter so it's special to us in that way.

But ranking a single park is much more difficult. MK is "home" as I said, but Disneyland has a much higher density of rides. DLP is the prettiest castle park in the world and both Tokyo parks are pretty amazing.
