Yeah, DLP seems to have a habit of starting a project, stopping for months to start another one, then finally going back to finish it. Similar with the Casey's Corner Gazebo project
Let’s hope DLP doesn't take a break with the new Nighttime Spectacular......

I think the technical term is they often hit a snag... with Disney Village they should know by now that there is stuff hiding in these 35 year old buildings that they aren't expecting... the roofs for one seem to be getting a lot of additional work over and above what was expected.

Likewise with the Casey Corner project they had to adjust the plans to the extent they had to resubmit their planning application once they'd done so. I'm less sure what the exact issue was here.

It's a bit like how they always seem to be surprised when they find asbestos in their big show buildings which then delay things by months which was the case with Phantom and IASW.

Meanwhile, near Casey’s Corner, the construction of the covered terrace is still underway and will provide a new sheltered area, while staying visually coherent with Main Street, U.S.A.®, as from Spring 2025. As it was for the nearby gazebo, the construction work takes place mainly at night to respect security guidelines and limit noise pollution in this much-frequented area. Soon this space will offer guests a cosy covered seating area with shades of colours in harmony with the façade of Casey’s Corner. More information about the opening soon!

Live music in the parks is great. This sounds like a neat festival.

DLP has shared a news article about the BTM refurbishment:

Source: Renovation of Big Thunder Mountain from January until early summer 2025

"First and foremost, the challenge was to ensure the strong immersion in the Wild West atmosphere of Frontierland®. To do so, the Imagineers carried out an in-depth study of the wood, which is very present in the attraction’s décor and its station, with a view to replacing certain structures with new elements made to measure by the Design & Delivery and Central Workshop teams. These new elements are more durable and will be carefully painted to retain the aged look of this gold-rush mine. There will also be refurbishments to certain emblematic elements of the décor on the mountain, such as the famous Mill Camp tower, and the queue section.

All the animal figures in the attraction, such as Billy the goat and the mules, will be fully restored to their original glory in the Central Workshops. The plants will also be restored with the re-planting of cacti, to complete the authentic landscape evoking the deserts of North America. The Walt Disney Imagineering Paris teams were able to refer to the Big Thunder Mountain archives dating back to its opening in 1992 to ensure the utmost care of these essential elements of the attraction’s history was taken."

Sounds like the focus of this refurbishment will be the deco elements including the animals, cacti and queue. Hopefully the opossums will get some attention as well and they will have them turn again. Has anyone heard anything about a potential re-tracking of the ride which would require an even more lengthy closure in the future?
