Magic Kingdom closed to ALL guests due to reaching absolute capacity (phase 4)

Is there a phase 5 or is this the worst it can get in terms of not letting people into the park?

Just wondering... if it was already talked about my bad. :veryconfu
I would think that 4 was the maximum since all guests are being turned away, but I couldn't be wrong.

Wow! Such little news about WDW that folks around these parts get all lathered up over crowds Easter week ... so shocking ... it's not like it's like this ... well, pretty much every year.

With all the cuts in CMs, which likely means less attraction capacity, I am sure it's pretty hellish ... or was ... as they apparently went from Phase 4 down to nothing in a span of about 2-3 hours.

Not excited.

Oh, and in an effort to be fair and accurate, someone asked about EPCOT on NYE in 1999 ... they indeed had a Phase 4 closing (I was with some of their ops folks on the night in question) for a while and then Phase 3 for most of the rest of the evening.

But capacity at EPCOT was/is considerably higher than MK ... and all parks (except DAK) have had their actual top numbers lowered in the past decade due to factors such as closed attractions, dining facilities and retail locales as well as FastPass.

Even now, I believe the numbers change based on what is open ... for instance, having a large theater attraction like HoP down does reduce the number for MK. When Space closes, the number will go lower (although by then the crowds will have left anyway).

So, come high August, MK will be quiet? How do you figure?

I'd be much more interested to know what wait times are ... and how close to maximum capacity attractions are being run at.

I'd also like to know how many registers are being used at QSRs. And if any special entertainment has been added to deal with the crowds.

~In other words, the important stuff.~

Crowds drop dramatically around Aug. 10-15th ... and have for years.

That's why the 'free' dining deal came about.

Even with those people, the parks are no where's near as crowded.

Easter week is traditionally the second-busiest week of the year following the week between Christmas and New Year's. No time in August comes close. Heck, other than the week of July 4th, no week in summer comes close.

:lol::lol:

We were there that EXACT time, last year, and trust me, EPCOT was packed. JII had a 30 min wait. SSE an hour TLS, at least 50...It was madness. So I have no idea where you get that from.

Now if you had said last week of June, I would have believed you. Been to WDW in June most of all, and never more than a 30 min wait for most E-tics.
