There is a Verandah?
Can not remember one or think of where one may of been. I been going to WDW for 20years,
From what I remember, there is the dole whip place, the tree house, Jungle boat, the useless out of theme Alladin thing, Pirates but I remember no restaurant.

Makes no difference because I am sure if they add 5 sit down restaurant i never be able to get in because people have those meal plans and book them 5 or 6 months in advance.

But where is this location?

See there, they did their job!!! You forgot it existed!!

But yeah, right on the right as you cross the bridge into adventureland. It's used at times for special events... We were in it once during MNSSHP. It was a candy location, and they had meet and greets in there. I BELIEVE there's an area for balcony seating (larger than the meet n greet right near the bridge) too. But I'm not positive about that. If there is one, it hasn't been used for years.

I wonder how much less the park will be full in the near future from the flu situation.

I was wondering this too. I am a season DAK CM and I'm getting nervous having to go back to work in a few weeks. Hopefully by then there will be some control to the flu and the parks will be ok. If not, well the it's surgical masks and gloves for me, I don't care how bad of "show" it is.

Really this flu is not as bad as the media makes it. They have already overestimated the number of people that died from it in mexico. Its just another flu strain that always hurts people with weak immune systems. 100,000 people die of the regular flu every year from what ive read. just keep clean as best as possible. And stay away from the mexico pavillion:) Just kidding!

I saw new posts in this thread and I thought we had more phased closings or alleged record crowds to discuss.

I see I was wrong ... nothing to see here.

Hi. Sorry it took so long to respond, but been busy and didn't see this until now.

There are upwards of two dozen (yeah that many) projects at WDW that are in various states of approval that have been sitting while management uses the economic disaster as an excuse for not spending.

The majors include a complete redo of Fantasyland facades and structures (most of which are just slightly changed versions of what has existed since 1971). This would include a Little Mermaid E-Ticket attraction/shop at exit, removing the Snow White dark ride and replacing it with one themed to Beauty and the Beast as well as adding a family friendly SW dwarfs mine train coaster. MK would also get a pirate themed dining experience at the abandoned Adventureland Verandah.

EPCOT would see a replacement for the current Illuminations show and new versions of Imagination (total redo of entire pavilion including new 3D film) and Energy. Less solid are a few attraction concepts for World Showcase.

The Studios would see Star Tours 2.0, a coaster based on the doors scene in Monsters Inc and (less solid) a large replacement for the tram tour to nowhere as well as a major new full serve dining facility.

DAK would receive a whole new land with one mega attraction and a few smaller scale ones.

Those are the biggees ... or the ones that were most likely to see the light of day before the recession/depression hit.

If half of the above gets built in the next decade then consider things very fortunate!

~Better late ... than ... dead~

I feel, very, very sad now.

Also am I the only one who thinks a Sleeping Beauty dark ride (like the one originally intended for WDW) would have much more potential than a Beauty and the Beast one? In my head I even see how they could use the existing show space and track layout for a SB ride, and it would be alot more exciting.

Even those Mary Poppins and Legend of Sleepy Hollow rides would make me much happier if built than BatB.

I have a hard time believeing even if the economy was BOOMING that they would greenlight even a quarter of this list.

Rasolu would never allow it and even they got a few things through they would probably be woefully underfunded.

When things are going good Disney's excuse is "We have so many ppl coming we can get by with just small investments and attendance will still grow" when things are bad Disney's excuse is "well due to the economy ppl aren't coming so aside from a few small investments we won't be building anything".

Yeah so I stuck with it for 18 pages so I feel I've earned the right post here. ;) Anyway, those pics were incredible! How do you even tell where a line is? Imagine, standing in line for what seems like forever, only to realize yer in line for the wrong thing. Or worse, not in any line at all!

I think so too. But why close SWSA in the first place?:( It's another classic that people would miss greatly.

Oh believe me it's one of my favorites! I ride it alot when I'm at MK, but if it must be replaced I'd rather have something equally or more cool and not some lame "adventure" where you get to watch a Belle AA read by herself. :dazzle:

~Babes in Toyland was even going to be a ride at one point! And Pinocchio and Alice have already been done, but they want Beauty and the Beast?~

:lol: It could be good if they were to make the scenes a bit more intense.

SB would be nice though.

I went for Memorial Day in 2006 and it really wasn't bad. We were there for 8 days altogether, but even during Memorial Day Weekend we managed to never wait more than 25 minutes for anything. Tour early, tour late, and avoid parks with EMH.
