Low key New Years at Epcot?

slight change of plans for me and my gf...and now we are thinking about heading to Epcot tomorrow night for NYE...We'll be upgrading our passes to annual instead of seasonal if we go obviously...

If I work a half day and get to the park around 5 or 6, would we still be able to get in? I know that Stage I park closure allows APs to still get in. Do you think they'll be at Stage II by that time?

It's a definite possibility they'll be at max occupancy long before 5-6pm. Good luck! :D

Sometimes you get good information, sometimes you don't. It's all part of the Disney guessing game.

in other words,

no one here actually knows any more than anyone else

some people THINK they know

but actually they have no idea...

again I ask though, should I attempt to go to Epcot tomorrow even though I won't be able to get there till about 4? I was hoping for more than one response! Past experiences anyone?

I've never been in Epcot on NYE, and though MK was great both times, I still would've preferred at least one of the two times we were there to be spent at Epcot. Even if it's scaled back, the atmosphere still provides alot of excitement, plus Illuminations is a much more epic show than Wishes (in my opinion).

Possibly. Hard to say, though I will say that you have a better chance of getting into Epcot than either DHS or MK at that time. Rarely does Epcot ever fill to "capacity" since its so large; let's just say the earlier you get there, the better. Hope it works out, and have a great night!

Thanks Don! Any word on the World Showcase Pavilion? Last year you could go in and dance with the restaurant on the left backhand side. Even if you were not eating there you could still dance.

I feel sory for the people in line for Soarin. It's a nice attraction, but NOT worth an almost 4 hour wait.:dazzle:
In fact, I don't know ANY attractions I'd wait 4 hours for, unless I had like 7-8 days to spend at WDW.

Some of those people who suggested that Disney might (and they still likely are) having cutbacks at EPCOT today/tonight didn't start the thread or offer information of their own.

They simply responded to what the OP had to say since he had ostensibly looked into and researched what was on the table at EPCOT tonight because he was actually going to be there and not on a beach in South Florida like ... well, some others may be.

If Disney hasn't cut anything back at Epcot tonight then kudos to Jim MacPhee and his managers.

I'll be interested to hear if they're giving out hats and noise makers like they used to (although they were annoying as hell when mixed with alcohol, immaturity and kids!) ... NYE/Happy New Year buttons have been gone for years!
