We thought about staying at the airport too. would the airport be a pick up point for this transfer too?

The Disney transfers from the airport will be the earliest to get to the port: typically 10:30-ish. That's about when the port opens to embarking passengers so it's early. It's the transfers from the resorts that don't arrive until later: typically more like 1:00. Gals staying at the resorts who want to get to the port early like the airport people sorta need alternatives. Still, it would be fun if we were all together for the ride out to Port Canaveral. I can imagine the bus or van going berserk as you top that hill and actually see the ship in the distance for the first time. Who would want to miss THAT?!

For some reason, I am not getting alerts when this thread updates, so I fell behind a bit.

I'm getting in to MCO at 3:09 on Saturday (at least, that's as of now--Delta is famous for tinkering with their schedule), and I have a studio at Bay Lake Tower for the night. Sofabed's available if anyone needs a bunk. Will be at BWV after the cruise, flying home on the Saturday night (again, I have room, but @plaz10 has dibs). I was planning on Villains Night, but like Kelly, am a bit put off by the new high prices (and they way they announced it).

I'm so sorry to hear you were sick on your cruise, @sweetpee_1993, it's great that you're getting a do-over! And hey, if you decide to plan on Ireland for your 25th anniversary, I could be your personal tour guide...;)

As we get closer, I'm going to have ME questions, I've never taken it before, and with the split stay, I know I'll get confused.

I hope some of our experienced cruisers will provide a list of packing necessities, such as how many dresses do I need if I'm going to Palo and Remy...and how many pairs of shoes is too many. :p

LOL! I'm still recovering. It was really bad.

I think 25th might be a better time for Ireland. With me already in Orlando the week before our anniversary it makes sense and costs considerably less to go with another cruise. Just the flights are a savings. KWIM? Ooooh...if we plan Ireland far enough out maybe you COULD come be our guide! Like I said before, I'd much rather have a real life experience than just any tourist thing. I'd rather be with people who live there and see it thru their eyes. Who would know it better???? Right?

The ticket prices are very much a put-off. That's sad. I'm down with kicking around outside the parks, even going to a waterpark as an alternative because a 1-day ticket is half what a park ticket is now. We could also resort hop to each other's resorts! :D I'm open to whatever. I don't feel like I MUST go into the 4 parks at all.

The transfers aren't too confusing. It's easy, especially with a TA to handle the arrangements. You're in great hands!

Hey Tammy, question. According to my info for the cruise, I can't start booking activities until the 10th. Is that going to be a problem with the extras I had emailed you about (Palo, ect)?

Nope! I booked palo for everyone that asked under my status! You can book Palo and Remy for others if they're eating with you. The only thing it matters for are excursions and spa reservations.

Once we get a firm count of who is at the airport and who is at WDW, we'll price out some transfers. I think we can split some and all come out better. :)

Oops, I missed a bunch of comments when I posted. I don't think I was on the last page, lol!

I feel very safe saying we can get transfers from WDW for less (and much earlier) than Disney. How many people will determine how much and how big of a transfer. If you see this and you're firm, send me your plans!

If we end up with a lot of different resorts, we could try to meet at a couple and save some time.

YES! Anyone looking to stay at WDW resorts before/after the cruise lets get a list going. Email Tammy! I don't care where I stay, I just don't want to stay where I'm stuck with a later port arrival because of the slow transfers. But, if we can do our own transfers AND save money over what Disney's transfers cost then it's a total win-win.

Joanna,

I think because Tammy has linked all our reservations it's "possible" she's been able to snag things for linked rooms according to booking windows that have opened up earlier than yours. That's why she was compiling lists of the harder to get offerings so far out. There was always the possibility of the earlier booking windows for our concierge/platinum/gold cruisers creating an advantage for EVERYONE.

Palo I think she's working on a private table(s) which as long as we meet the number restrictions (minimum & maximum) should be good to go. We're so lucky to have Tammy on top of this stuff for everyone!

The cabanas we have because of the earliest booking window from Pam's crew. Another great big THANK YOU to her for making it even possible!

Whew! Thanks for the info (I can't wait until I hit Gold)

I most likely will be going from the airport, unless we do some sort of carpooling from a resort

That sounds like fun

Awesome! Thanks Tammy. I don't think I will book the spa (unless I go with a day in the Rainforest room), and I don't know about excursions yet. Atlantis sounds like fun

I most likely will be leaving from the airport, unless it's easier otherwise

Stephanie and I are driving in and planning on staying at Pop the night before. We may have room in the car for one or two other girls. Just a thought as an option for someone.

Tammy is awesome at sending out a sorta generic packing list with the cruise docs but that's kinda close to sailing. Think about what you'll be doing day & night. I usually sit down & go thru my itinerary day by day, think of each thing I have planned, then create a list on paper of each "need". The dresses, etc. are easy because, for the most part, you don't wear them for very long and change back to your comfy clothes. At least we do. When we've done brunches I put on a sundress and was back in my shorts within a couple hours. Same thing at night. We dress before dinner, do pictures if that's what we want to do, go to dinner, then change back to comfy clothes before doing anything else. The guys even hang up their pants & shirts to rewear multiple times. Unless you spill something they should be perfectly clean to rewear. So if you wanted to just pack a couple casual dresses, a dressier dress for "dress-up" (think date-night dressy or cocktail at the most), and a little something fun for Pirate Night you should be all-set for dining rooms/meals/evenings. Add your shorts/day wear for each day, a swimsuit or 2 w/coverups or big tees, a couple pajamas, and BAM! You're set! Shoes. Shoes are my nemesis. I try to pack things that are multi-use. Like a cute pair of sandals can go with casual dresses and shorts during the day. Basic flip-flops can go with your swimsuit & coverup then again with shorts during the day. I hate and despise evil heels so the only time I'll even think about those is for the dressier night but only if there's no way I can pull off a flat. Heels tend to take up more space in luggage, too.

Honest, packing isn't hard at all. Just go thru what you've got planned day by day and it all comes together fairly easily. :D

:D 90 days girls, 90 days!!! :D

Side note, @Tiggerish I too stopped receiving updates on this thread!!! :( I thought we had gone silent in here!

We are arriving at 10:15am on the 7th. Right now we are booked for POR for that night but my sister went behind my back and was checking out discounts for the Poly. When she brought it up, I told her I couldn't afford it and she offered to pay the difference between POR and the Poly because she knows how badly I want to stay there, even if it is just for one night. I literally cried when she said that. So we might be switching to the Poly OR Boardwalk Villas if we decide the Poly is just too much.

I'm all for earlier transfers and transfering with a group of gals. There will be 3 of us so anything to save us all a buck or two would be FANTASTIC!!

90 days! Woo hoo!!

I just sent out reminders to everyone who can check in online to go ahead and do it! You want to get the earliest arrival time you can! :)

If no one in your room has sailed before, you can do it on the morning of the 25th! :)
