How did this thread get on the 2nd page?! UNACCEPATABLE!!!!!
Booked my flights tonight! Woot! Cost a whopping $5 round trip! Okay, PLUS 25,000 miles. I bet at least one of you just smacked your face on your monitor! Bwaaaahahahahaaaaaaa!!!!!!
Soooooo, flying in Saturday 9/7. Arriving at 4:52 p.m. I'd like to stay out at the airport. Unless a big party bus gets organized from the resorts. If that happens I'll see y'all out on-property somewhere. Will hafta check with my roomies to see what's up, tho.
Post cruise plans are coming together, too! As mentioned previously, 9/18 is my 20th anniversary. Can't let that one pass us by, right? Sooooo, I'll be headed from the Dream over to AKL Kidani to check into a studio. No plans for the day. I'll have to think long and hard about whether to plunk down whatever crazy amount a 1-day ticket is these days. Maybe I'll just lay by the pool all day and hope for a cute cabana boy...er...a reliable poolside server with beverages. Tracey will be arriving late that same night. His flight gets in around 11:00 p.m. so I don't expect his arrival until midnight or so. Friday 9/13, no idea what we'll do. Prob'ly soak up the AKL life and enjoy the destination. Then Saturday, 9/14 it looks like we'll be heading back out to the port to get on the Fantasy! Yes! Again!!!! I was sick on our Fantasy cruise last week plus a couple of our teenagers had an aversion going for the cliquey Vibe so they actually wanted to hang out. With us. We left so much undone on the Fantasy...when it came down to choosing between 2 more voyages on the Dream or do-over on the Fantasy it really wasn't a hard decision.
I'm going to be away from home for TWO. WHOLE. WEEKS! Wow! I'm going to miss my kids and my dog. Briefly. Maybe. No promises! I may never come back!!!!!!
So that's me. What's everyone planning to do the day we get off the cruise???

I arrive at Orlando on the 7th - staying there at the Hyatt. Then 3 days at the World afterwards, staying at AOA. I have room for a bunkie, if anyone is interested.
93 days to go!
Edit: Were you planning on doing the Villian's Party on the 13th?

We are working on some transfer options by the way! Maybe a big transfer from WDW. It should be fairly economical per person and we can leave earlier in the morning. Once we firm up how many people are going to be where we can get the prices.

Sounds fun. I've always wanted to stay at AKL Kidani, but my husband likes BC/YC and BWV.
I am flying in Saturday night and rooming with @Tiggerfanatic at the Hyatt.
I kind of want to stay on afterwards, but I worry about my son. He has Asperger's Syndrome and I am worried about how me going away might put a crimp in his predictable routine. (I am hoping he rolls with it like he does when my husband goes out of town.) Plus, I will be at WDW in mid-August and that will be twice for me this year. I don't want to go too frequently and get sick of it.

I am still trying to decide I think I will come the night before. Sean and the kids are coming down the day we get back so we will be there till the 15 th.
@sweetpee_1993 maybe we can figure something out for the night before together and split the cost. The kids and I are flying to pcola on the 25 th spin am waiting on My miles to hit soon can book and not pay

I am game for hanging out in the parks afterwards (I definitely plan on going to DHS for the Villains event)

You must do United/Continental, too! LOL! We have a United Visa and rack up the miles. My flights plus one leg of Tracey's were 12,500 each ticket each way. He had a cancelled Southwest flight he cashed in for his outbound flight. So we booked & paid for a 2-night resort stay & round trip air for 2 last night for under $400. I frickin' love bargains! ((And can I get a WOOT-WOOT! for free first checked bags when normally I'd have to pay for that?!))
So cool! We could be on the same DME bus!
I'm glad we're redoing the Fantasy, too. What you said in your email last night about how easy it would've been to come back from a not-so-happy week that we paid an obscene amount of money for and swear off cruising. That's true. It did cross my mind. Seriously. Maybe the fact that our 2nd family trip to WDW I was sick with the flu the entire time prepped me. We still went back to WDW in years after and made more priceless memories than I can count. That trip just stunk because I was so sick. Same with this one. I was miserable a lot. I didn't have as much fun. I wanted little to nothing to do with the food because I couldn't taste it (<--good thing we skipped Palo & Remy). I walked around trying not to slap random people because I was misery incarnate. But I know all that was because I was sick. Then the weather was bad. Those things have absolutely nothing to do with the ship or her crew. There's sooooo much we didn't do. We read back thru our Navigators and it was like, "Crap! I want to do that! Wish we'd done that!" I don't think I even read the Navigator every day because I didn't feel up to anything. We saw no adult shows because just getting thru dinner was all I could manage. We need to go back and do it all again. I hate to think we left so much undone. I don't even feel like I really experienced the Fantasy yet...and I just got off a week-long voyage on her!
Oh no! I'll have to do laundry! But it's only MY laundry (maybe Tracey's, too) but I don't mind that at all. Ooooh...maybe I'll just send the laundry off for someone ELSE to do it! That's not an option when it's drawers x4 but when it's just 1 or 2, I'll do it!
I guess I should look at the Villain's party. LOL! Honestly, I hadn't given a single thought to the parks. Considering the new prices for 1- 2- day tickets I'd say it's not all that likely to happen. But, you never know. Tracey & I are known for chasing our whims.
We stayed at AKL Jambo back in January 2010. I'm hoping it won't be snowing this time around.
My first choice for post cruise with my old man was BC/YC but I'm not paying the insane per night price even with the fall room-only discount. We rented points for an amazing bargain from another WDWMagic'er for less than a moderate would've cost with a room-only discount. I'm still totally tickled with myself at the good deal. Saved $600 off what Disney priced the same room at! I need a tshirt so I can flaunt my cleverness! LOL!What time does your flight arrive?! It's kinda cool to imagine so many of us descending upon MCO so close to the same time.
Ah! My oldest nephew, Jack, is Aspie. I understand where you're coming from.
Of course, Jack turned 21 earlier this year and his new favorite thing has been going to the local bar and drinking. I hear he talks about it a lot nowadays. He still lives at home and attends the University of South Alabama on a band scholarship. I'm sure if his grades start to slip my sis-in-law will pull the plug on his fun in a flash. LOL! Hopefully your guy will roll with your absence and maybe even find some extra coolness with some non-mothery time. I know I remember a few trips my sis-in-law took for weddings and at least 1 funeral when Jack was little that he did okay with. He would've been fine as long as he had some familiarity with the who stayed with him (dad, grandparents, siblings) and/or surroundings or pieces of routine that he knew. When I think about it, the trips I can recall right off the top of my head that Stacey went on without her kiddos it was only her. Her husband stayed home. They have 4 kids total so having the siblings around would've made for another comfort. Hey! Multiple trips this year! AP perhaps??? ((I'm not helping, am I?

Hey Tammy, question. According to my info for the cruise, I can't start booking activities until the 10th. Is that going to be a problem with the extras I had emailed you about (Palo, ect)?

We thought about staying at the airport too. would the airport be a pick up point for this transfer too?
For some reason, I am not getting alerts when this thread updates, so I fell behind a bit.
I'm getting in to MCO at 3:09 on Saturday (at least, that's as of now--Delta is famous for tinkering with their schedule), and I have a studio at Bay Lake Tower for the night. Sofabed's available if anyone needs a bunk. Will be at BWV after the cruise, flying home on the Saturday night (again, I have room, but @plaz10 has dibs). I was planning on Villains Night, but like Kelly, am a bit put off by the new high prices (and they way they announced it).
I'm so sorry to hear you were sick on your cruise, @sweetpee_1993, it's great that you're getting a do-over! And hey, if you decide to plan on Ireland for your 25th anniversary, I could be your personal tour guide...
As we get closer, I'm going to have ME questions, I've never taken it before, and with the split stay, I know I'll get confused.
I hope some of our experienced cruisers will provide a list of packing necessities, such as how many dresses do I need if I'm going to Palo and Remy...and how many pairs of shoes is too many.

I think because Tammy has linked all our reservations it's "possible" she's been able to snag things for linked rooms according to booking windows that have opened up earlier than yours. That's why she was compiling lists of the harder to get offerings so far out. There was always the possibility of the earlier booking windows for our concierge/platinum/gold cruisers creating an advantage for EVERYONE.
Palo I think she's working on a private table(s) which as long as we meet the number restrictions (minimum & maximum) should be good to go. We're so lucky to have Tammy on top of this stuff for everyone!
The cabanas we have because of the earliest booking window from Pam's crew. Another great big THANK YOU to her for making it even possible!
