The nope was in reference to a revamp happening.
I am by no means a Disney fan to the degree that some of you are here, if only for the fact that I never went to the parks in the 70s, 80s or 90s. 2009 was my first trip.
However, that being said, I have been very many time since then, and I have come to learn that there are some rides that should never be radically changed. Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Peter Pan, Dumbo, It's a Small World, etc. These rides are true classics that should stay the same in story and purpose. Now, improved AAs, new artwork, theme improvements are fine and should be expected. But to radically alter the attractions themselves would be a mistake. To me, there are some legacy attractions that should NEVER change aside from refurbs, AA improvements, etc. And these types of rides don't only reside in the MK.
Epcot has them: SSE, LwtL, Imagination (for some, Horizons should still be on this list). These rides, from a story and intent standpoint, should remain forever as EPCOT Center classics. I have seen
@marni1971 's video of the original Imagination and that ride was incredible. It should never have been changed. That ride, redesigned to it's original incarnation, would be incredible today with the technology that Imagineering has available to them. Personally, even though they most likely never will, they should restore this ride to what it was, and introduce Figment and Dreamfinder again as park IP. Chapek is interested in building up the S.E.A. presence in the parks, why not the original EPCOT Center IPs?
